I had heard so many rave reviews about this Ramen restaurant from my non-Celiac friends that I just had to give it a shot. Standing in line, I was told there were several options for GF. Once I got to the register, however, I was told there was one option only.
It was a milky broth with no meat, just some veggies. The biggest amount in it was charred Brussels sprouts which had such a strong burnt flavor that I couldn't take more than a couple spoonfuls. Everything just tasted burnt. We ended up leaving. The rest of the night I couldn't shake the gross burnt flavor- it was so strong.
Austin has so many fabulous GF options- don't waste your time at Ramen Tatsu-Ya.

They can accommodate gluten free with one menu item but that's it. two of the vegetables in that one menu item have soy sauce in them so they are scratched as well. I am eating it now and it's actually quite tasty but I would not recommend this restaurant to the gluten free just because you will not have options other than one thing they can make gluten free. The one item is the Tomkatsu Original. the staff and service was good.
This Ramen shop offers a celiac bowl of broth, rice and veggies. They are knowledgeable about ingredients and took precautions to ensure my comfort. I have celiac and was comfortable eating here. Delicious!
