One of the best Cuban Restaurants I have ever eaten at. Unfortunately we were just passing through so won’t get to experience their food often as we live in NY. I highly recommend them though for those lucky enough to live in the area. Their food was incredibly delicious and the staff were knowledgeable on food issues. If we lived in the area we would definitely eat there at least once a week. I had the Ropa Vieja which was super tasty and tender. My husband had the Lechon Asado which he said was the best he ever had.

The staff appears to be well-educated on cross-contamination and also knows which dishes on the menu are already GF or can be safely modified. I highly recommend the Lechon Asado and also the Pollo Asado. They were amazing! Sadly, though, I can’t recommend the Ropa Vieja; it was tough and stringy. The restaurant is known for its excellent margaritas, and I concur. But I think their mojitos are even better. Get one of each! I ate at Rancho Alegre twice during my weekend visit to Savannah and never got sick. Bonus: The flan is also GF.

Cuban food is one of my favorites since most of it is GF. Server was very knowledgeable about GF options and there were many foods I could choose. I had the Ropa Vieja and it tasted amazing.
