Do not order the gluten-free pancakes. When I went I asked the waitress for the gluten-free pancakes, as showed on the menu. The waitress told me the Randolph Diner is very safe with gluten-free items so I felt comfortable ordering. Upon receiving my meal, my pancakes look the same as my boyfriend’s (who ordered regular pancakes). I asked the waitress again if they were gluten-free, and she reassured me they were. It became very evident after they were not, as I was very sick for many hours. When my sister called the restaurant to make them aware of the situation on my behalf (since I was too ill to call), the manager adamantly denied they could’ve been the cause of this (this was my breakfast/only meal I had had at that point). She wanted to bring awareness - fortunately, I will not go to anaphylactic shock, but others may so she wanted to make sure the restaurant was aware of safety guidelines and the disconnect between what was told and what the food that was served. Management was not accepting of the fact that there might’ve been a mistake. I’d caution any gluten sensitive or celiac from eating here especially if you were interested in the pancakes. As you can see from the comments below mine, there is a reoccurring theme that the pancakes are not safe for the gluten-free community. I was disappointed in how the situation was handled and overall disconnect between the restaurant.
