I thought this place was safe even though the owner seemed a little confused about what he had that contained gluten or even just wheat. My curry was served with a fried piece of some kind of dough stuck on it and when I asked him about wheat in it he said I couldn’t eat it and to just take it out. I carefully avoided any part near that but I ended up getting sick - could have been another part of the meal, it’s hard to tell. Don’t recommend this place for celiacs.

A tiny Sri Lankan restaurant in the heart of Nara - easy walking distance from Nara Park and the station, so a perfect lunch stop. We had curry for two adults plus drinks, salads, and a mini dessert all for just 1500 yen. Food is naturally gluten free and the owner understood I couldn’t eat wheat.
Would highly recommend for a quick and cheap lunch in Nara!
