Very good food. Staff was knowledgeable and all food was prepared with clean gloves & on gluten free surfaces. They offered not just gf bread for sandwiches but also gf and vegan options for all their waffles. They even gave us a free gf muffin when they forgot one of our hash browns.

I love this place for breakfast. I’m sure other meals are great too. I go every time I’m in town and have their wonder gf breakfast sandwich. Today I tried the gf waffle. Yummm! Dedicated equipment! Amazing. I’ve never had any issues. Plus the owner and staff are lovely and the space is cozy and a little quirky. High highly recommend.

Delicious & primarily Gluten Free!!! I love when places have gluten free bread! Their sandwiches were fantastic and the blueberry lemon gf muffin was great too! I highly recommend giving this place a try!

The staff at Red Elm Cafe have gotten sloppy and I was super disappointed about my last visit.

We had to repeat the modificationals to our orders several times because the person taking our order kept forgetting. They accidentally sent out a whole milk latte vs the oat milk we asked for and immediately assumed we didn't ask and gave us attitude.

It made it hard to trust our food would be safe for celiacs. Last time I got the waffle (to-go) there were no markings indicating gluten free and my husband had to taste test for me.

I've visited for the last time, sadly, because my gluten free Aussie toast today was absolutely disappointing. It used to be my favorite thing on the menu, now a sad little scrape of avocado on tiny GF bread with no seasoning.

Overall, a terrible experience with a once-great neighborhood cafe.

The Red Elm Café was great, with a good selection of gluten free food available and reasonable prices for it. I went here with non-gluten free friends and our waitress made it clear which order was mine and I didn't feel sick at all after eating.

The food itself is also delicious, with none of the issues that gluten free foods sometimes have. I would confidently come back here!

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Fairly good gf menu and staff was very accommodating about celiac.

Wife had gf waffle with blueberries and whipped cream. She also ordered a chocolate chip cookie on the side (Wow bakery) and a blueberry muffin. She ate the muffin later and it was just okish but she loved the waffle and cookie.

I had a bacon and cheese waffle (not gf) and thought it was great.

By far the best gluten waffle!! Had the bacon cheese waffle and loaded hash browns!! I would come here everyday if I could!! Will definitely come back here!! Staff very nice and knowledgeable about celiac!! They prepare everything in separate locations to cut down on the cross contamination! Never been sick here once!!! Also got to try one of their blueberry muffins DELICIOUS!! Come here as soon as you can before I eat it all!!! 😂

This is one of my favorite places in Tacoma. The owners are super sweet and the staff is lovely. The gluten free waffles are also vegan and delicious. They also offer all there breakfast sandwiches with gluten free bread. They make their turkey sausage in house and it's amazing. I eat here all the time and have never gotten sick

This was such an amazing and Devine experience. I come from a small town in Missouri where almost no one has gluten free things. We are here 4 times in the 10 days we were in Tacoma. Dedicated waffle maker for just gluten free, also another dedicated waffle maker for vegan gf. The vegan gf Belgian waffle was my favorite and I’m not vegan!! Also the tomato soup and grilled cheese both gluten free were delicious. 10 / 10 I would go 100 more times

The staff was super helpful and assured me they would take all steps possible to avoid cross contamination. However, there is gluten close by so it is a risk. They have a separate iron waffle and grill for GF. I had the delicious bacon cheese waffle and a piece of avocado toast. Ask that the toast goes on the GF grill, not the shared toaster. I did not get sick.

Love the GF vegan waffle! I was skeptical as I am not vegan but am a celiac. The cashier said they were sweet so I decided to try it and LOVED it. Have been multiple times and is my go to place for breakfast when I have a day off.
