We were so EXCITED to try this dedicated restaurant! And were not disappointed in the slightest. My celiac daughter got to pick whatever she wanted and didn't have to worry about anything. That was the best feeling, knowing everything was safe! Go hungry, you will walk away stuffed and have plenty of leftovers. We had Mac N Cheese deep dish pizza, Hungarian deep dish, chicken alfredo penne, Calzone and an ELEPHANT EAR :-) Thank you Renee's for making our trip delicious! -from Louisiana travelers
Excellent food! I drove 1 1/2 hrs to eat here. I don’t have restaurants like this near me and it was worth the drive. I ate gf/vegan pizza, gf/vegan Mac n cheese, gf breadsticks, gf/vegan elephant ear and it was all delicious. Just rewarded some leftovers and still good. Can’t wait to go back!
This place is unbelievable; I cannot believe it exists. We went to both locations on our trip to Michigan, and both were outstanding. The pizzas were excellent, and my kids (who do not have celiac) devoured the fries. For me, the highlight was the bread sticks, which are sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and served with their tomato sauce for dipping. I will go out of my way on all trips to Michigan to eat at this place.
I absolutely love this place I worked out in Troy before it opened when I saw the sign saying opening soon I was so excited I’d drive by nearly every day. It feels great to walk in an not have to ask for a GF menu or worry at all. I haven’t been there in a while it is a bit expensive but it will always be my favorite place to eat
Stopped here before heading home to Ohio. I will be making excuses to come to Michigan just to get this food again!! The deep dish pizza is the first I’ve had since my diagnosis 2 years ago, and BOY was it great. The dough is soft, but not chewy. The sauce is tangy and a true joy, elevating the pizza to my favorite I’ve had out. It was fantastic to walk in and get whatever I wanted at a pizza place!! Go here if you can ❤️
The staff were so incredibly friendly and the food was amazing. It felt so good to be "normal" again- able to come in and order anything I like from the menu without worrying about becoming sick. The restaurant is owned by Renee's mom. Renee, like me, lives with celiac disease. She also has EoE. As a result, she experiences the difficulty many of us do with eating at restaurants, knowing that the "gluten free" options they offer are not always safe to eat. This is why Renee's is a completely GF and nut-free facility- no outside food is allowed, not even baby food! The bread was soft and fluffy and flavorful, and all the food was delicious and fresh. Most importantly, Renee's mom offered my mom and I a bit of wisdom about living with celiac disease and offered to answer any questions we had. She also gave us a list of other GF eateries and bakeries in the area. She and her staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, like a family. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Most amazing delicious so happy we stopped here on our way home to the east coast from up north. Had the cream of broccoli soup, goulash soup, veggie calzone and THE BEST wrap (it was a chicken finger wrap) I’ve ever had. So tasty and they are super nice too. We sat outside and enjoyed our feast.
Simply the best GF restaurant in the area. Aside from being totally gluten/nut free, legitimately good pizza. Get the deep dish if you want to have a hearty cheesy meal. Also it’s hardly advertised but their crust is vegan too and they offer vegan cheese as a substitute. So MOST offerings can easily be made vegan, obviously after talking w your server. Can’t say enough good things about this place and staff. Have talked to ownership enough to tell they’re good folk. Happy to support their business, and grateful they’re around!
Good food, friendly, helpful, they understand celiac because of their daughter having it. I don't think a place could be any safer. (They don't allow people to bring in their own "safe" food and if an employee leaves for lunch, eats at a gluten restaurant, they're not allowed back in the restaurant that day for safety purposes.) Their pizza sauce and honey mustard, for chicken strips, are addicting. So are their cinnamon, sugar sticks and frosting. Highly recommend!
Delicious food and so wonderful to be able to order food with absolutely no worries. Very grateful to this dedicated gluten free restaurant! Just a few comments: 1) I ordered the fattoush salad, but it didn't come with the fried GF pita. The server said I had to request it...but the definition of a fattoush salad is a salad that has fried bread. If a salad is named fattoush on the menu it should be prepared with all of the common ingredients a fattoush salad consists of. 2) I ordered the elephant ear for desert & it came with a powdered sugar sauce & powdered sugar. Usually an elephant ear comes with cinnamon and sugar & no other options. The server said I had to request it with cinnamon and sugar. The menu does not state how it is served, or that it can be served multiple ways, it just says elephant ear. The menu and/or wait staff should inform the customer the various ways it can be prepared. 3) There is no liquor license so don't anticipate to have a drink with dinner.
Every time we get the chance, we plan a visit. WE LOVE THIS wonderful dedicated gluten free restaurant. We took lots of food back home but ordered a ton: Mac n cheese, veggie deep dish pizza, salad, margarita wrap and elephant ear! Amazing and SAFE!
The food was absolutely wonderful and delicious. The Chicken and Bacon wrap I had tasted like heaven it was so good. It was wonderful to be able to eat food THAT tastes great and I didn't have to worry about getting sick from. I will definitely be ordering from again.
I was diagnosed 21 years ago with celiac. Tonight I had a calzone for the first time since my diagnosis. I thoroughly enjoyed each bite. Although I could only eat half of it. I am from Utah here in Troy for work. I am disappointed I won’t be here longer to try more items on the menu!
absolutely heaven for a true Celiac. owners have a real gold mine here. the pizza is amazing. I haven't had a real tasting gluten free pizza ever and today I did. we are from MD and here visiting. I have the find me gluten free app and found this gem of a place. 100 percent gluten free and nut free establishment, with a note on the door that says no outside food allowed. thank you! thank you! no worries, I could eat anything. MIL had the broccoli cheese soup and said it was very good. I had pizza and fries with the hubby and couldn't pass up trying the cinnamon sticks! everything was outstanding. service was wonderful. don't be afraid to try it even if you don't have to be GF. this has always been my dream to open up a completely GF restaurant. I highly recommend this wonderful place!! see you in the spring!
This place was amazing!! The staff was so friendly and my daughter ( who is celiac) was so excited to get anything off the menu. A place she was safe. Such a great thing for a small child trying to adjust to a new way of life. My kids got the cheese pizza and they loved it and my husband and I got Calzones which were amazing! They also have an elephant ear, which made my daughter so happy because she could not have one at the fair this past summer.
