This fine dining experience was just that - an entire evening's worth. The food was flavorful with interesting combinations of textures. I particularly enjoyed the truffle/mushroom soup since we Celiacs don't get gf soups very often! The Grand Marnier souffle was amazing with several flavors and textures together. I enjoyed the Turbot and my partner liked the quail.
But...the service was very slow. We know that dinner is an evening event, but we felt pretty much ignored for a good part of it. The server was more interested in the silverware than delivering the water requested right when we arrived.
Even for French fine dining, the meal was overpriced (hence the 4 star rating).
Note RE: eating GF in France--there will be wheat everywhere, just be aware that as soon as you sit down there will be wheat bread delivered to the table. If your table doesn't want it, let them know while you are being seated. They WANT TO MAKE YOU HAPPY, so as a courtesy to the restaurant, call ahead or even visit the night before to let them know. If you don't speak enough French make sure to use a restaurant card - I found it was quite appreciated.
