Food is awesome especially the octopus carpaccio. They are allergy sensitive and have gluten free pasta.
I got GLUTENED!!!
So first off, to be fair, Bricco's in general has really good food and before health concerns had me go gluten-free, I really enjoyed coming here. The food was always delicious.
I hadn't been here in a while but headed here today with a co worker for a business lunch. I figured I could get a salad, usually a safe choice. I told the server I was both gluten free and dairy free and did she have any suggestions. She said hands down the salmon. I looked at the ingredients and it seemed suspicious to me, but she said the chef just takes out the items with gluten and she was positive it was easily a gluten free dish. She made so many comments about it being gluten free that I totally trusted her and was excited for my salmon. Ok. So fast forward to when I get my dish. I asked her again, just to be absolutely sure (as we always have to do with an allergy) that this was a gluten free dish. She said yes, and that she even made sure with the chef. So I take a big bite and what's under my fish? Farro!! She came back and I asked her, is this farro (farro is not gluten free) and she said yes, and then tells me, again, that she is sure that it's all gluten free. As she left, I put my fork down and googled farro to show her, and no sooner did I pull up proof that it's not gluten free did she come back saying I was right, that dish was full of Gluten. To her defense, she did say it was the chef who was mistaken and said she did double check with the chef who told her all was good. She was apologetic and said the manager would be right out...
Manager never showed! We were there for almost another hour.
All in all I was very disappointed and I wouldn't recommend Bricco's for anyone with food allergies.
I give an extra star because for non food allergy people the food is good. I'd just hate for someone to get violently ill due to their carelessness with how the food is prepared. Luckily I only had minor symptoms today but I know plenty people who would have become very ill.
