Thanks to reviews here I made the big hike up the hill to the Rosengarten. First, the view is incredible. Second, the restaurant was PACKED, and yet somehow we got a seat quickly as a walk up. The vibe is very, “we’ll be here drinking all day,” in the most causal and wonderful of ways. (A multigenerational “we,” might I add.)
Oh right! The food. I ordered cold sliced roast beef with tartar sauce, and the fries were not safe, so I got a salad. I also ordered a kombucha. (Omg I love when I find a kombucha at a restaurant.) The waiter brought out some gluten free bread, as well. They were very educated about gluten free, which made me breathe easy. It was the perfect lunch on a perfect 75 degree day.

Very good food. Was a little expensive but you get to sit and eat while enjoying a great view. They were very knowledgeable about what was gluten free or what could easily be made gluten free. There was no GF menu but they had an allergy menu. Got the beef with veggies and potatoes. They also spoke English and so nothing was lost in translation.

A lovely restaurant and location! I came for the aforementioned fondue but it turns out to be seasonal - they were able to tell me which dishes could be made gluten free and i had a very delicious steak! They also had delicous gf bread and a number of sundae desserts - but be sure to ask for your sundae without the cookie on top!
