Dishes without gluten ingredients are labeled on the menu. However, as a prior review notes, there is a lot of cross contamination and potential for cross contact in the kitchen. When I asked if the kitchen could take certain precautions to limit exposure, the person taking my order was hesitant and seemed irritated. Another staff member jumped in and explained that yes, they could change gloves and use clean surfaces, etc.
Hi- I work at Retreat and wanted to add some clarity on how items are prepared :)
Our chicken, tofu and bacon is cooked on the same grill as the sandwiches. Our gf bread goes through the same toaster we use for the “regular” bread/bagels. If you’re sensitive this is definitely something to keep in mind! I have celiacs and our retreat bowl with an egg is my go to❤
One of the best lunches I’ve had in a while! Their menu indicates which items are gf and they can make any sandwich option with gf bread, so there’s lots to choose from. I had the Retreat Bowl (sunny egg, organic brown rice, sweet potato, mushroom, arugula, pistachio pesto) and it was phenomenal. So tasty!
