Reunion is not a gluten free establishment nor does it have allergens marked on the menu. Usually, I wouldn’t eat at places like this. However, when I went with my family and inquired about gluten free options, the waitress immediately had the manager (Stefan) come to our table to discuss the menu. He asked a lot of clarifying questions about celiac/gluten/cross contamination and communicated things in detail to the kitchen/chef. He was extremely compassionate and truly wanted to help me have a safe meal. When we found a few safe options, I decided to order an omelette. The director of the kitchen (Luiz) brought me out my dish and reviewed all the precautions they took to make my meal. I have never been at an establishment that has voluntarily gone to this level of service and care - all set forth by simply communicating my “allergy” to the waitstaff.
The food was great, the view is gorgeous and I did not get sick. Very grateful for Reunion! I asked them if they would be able to be consistent with this level of care with other celiacs in the future, and they said that they always take allergies very seriously and do everything they can to help customers have a safe experience.
