*Update: definitely NOT celiac safe. I emailed the restaurant after my experience and this was the response from the owners:
"Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We do not use gluten in our products but we are not a gluten free facility. This is why we specifically note in our in-store signage, and on-line, that if you have severe allergies to please take precautions."
I have celiac disease and I tried this restaurant after I saw it advertised as being dedicated gluten free. I talked to the staff member at the counter who I told that I have celiac disease, and she assured me that everything in the store was gluten free and safe for me. I purchased 4 pints of ice cream (all different flavors) and then came home and tested them with my Nima gluten sensor as a precaution, and it found gluten. To confirm, I used a second test and it also found gluten. I threw away all 4 of the pints without trying them - I wouldn't recommend this as a safe place for someone with celiac disease.
