Delicious! Just went and they told me that everything that goes into the fryer is gluten free so cross-contamination is not even an issue. I have Celiac and am very sensitive and everything settled well.
Yes
confirming what others have said here, although they can use gluten free flour mix for the chicken, the fryers are now shared with non-gf so it’s not celiac safe anymore. still 3 stars because they were knowledgeable, warned me, and previously they had the best gf fried chicken anywhere!!
they did say they’re trying to get a dedicated fryer and to call & check in a few months so maybe there’s hope for us!
No longer have dedicated fryer. They have gf chicken but they fry it with the regular chicken.
WARNING: they told me that they are now gluten free ON REQUEST. The server checked and apparently they had cross contaminated all the oil so they couldn’t serve me gluten free. 1* minimum, additional star for warning me and not serving me.
No
All of their chicken (tenders etc) are GF and fryer is 100% GF.
Yes
Only the chicken is gluten free, not the sides, however it's awesome gluten free fried chicken. Probably the best I've had in awhile
We went today (4/3/19) with my newly-diagnosed 10 year old son. We looked it up online both here and the Richard's website to make sure it was GF. When we got to the counter to order the server told us the only things that were GF were the chicken and the collards. Not what he was hoping for. We still got the potato wedges and he ate them. My thinking (which could be faulty) is that if the chicken breading is GF, why wouldn't the "breading" on the fries be GF? Anyone have any thoughts or info on this? It seems like they really need to clarify exactly what is and isn't GF. Since they have a big GF on the store front, many people are going to assume the whole place is GF. My son really liked the food and I hope it doesn't make him sick.
DELICIOUS! Only thing on the menu not GF is cornbread and Mac n Cheese. Everyone should try this fried chicken!!!
Yes
Last reviewer was wrong about it being closed bc I’m sitting right here eating! Good and spicy chicken. Chicken is dipped in milk, Fryer is dedicated GF, Mac & cheese NOT GF as reported earlier.
Yes
So...disappointed, they are permanently closed, thankfully Google maps told me before I drove all the way there. Sounded wonderful!
It’s fried and gluten free how can you not give it a 5!!!! All the chicken is gluten free so no cross contamination fear. The hot is spicy but oh so good!!! Been a while since I had some good friend chicken!
No
best hot fried chicken in atlanta. never had an issue eating here. not sure about macncheese but definitely never had an issue with richards hot chicken and a side of spuds.
I was told everything was gluten free even the mac and cheese. I have celiac and had no problems with the chicken or the mac! Oh how I missed fried chicken!
Yes
The chicken is delicious and gluten free. I had that with brussel slaw, which was good, but very sauced. The chicken was even crispy out of the fridge the next day. Absolutely loved it, and others that tried it who aren't GF loved it too.
Walked the mile and a half and found out they are "temporarily" NOT offering anything gluten free. They said a week but call first!
No
They said that everything was GF except for the cornbread and the desserts! We had chicken and fries, and the celiac hub didn’t get sick :)
Sooo good and SOOOOO not GF! Staff didn't even know what gluten was- should've taken that as a sign not to order. Regardless, spent my entire day in the bathroom. 👎🏻
No
I felt so safe here. The manager/owner's mother has Celiac. The cornbread is not GF, but when I found this out after my plate had been delivered, he insisted on taking my plate away and giving me a fresh plate with no cornbread to avoid cross contamination. Also, delicious. They had me at fried chicken.
Yes
All their chicken is gluten free and very accommodating!!
I haven't eaten here yet, but talked to a chef in person. Even though their website does not mention it yet, their fried chicken is breaded with a GF flour/corn starch mix. Chef says it has it's own fryer. I haven't tried it yet, but gave it 5 stars for now because at least they are trying.
