I was searching for gluten free places to eat in Sterling VA and to my surprise discovered that Rise Bakery had a location there. I felt like a kid at Christmas when I went there. There were so many gluten free and vegan options. I loaded up on both fresh and frozen products. The lemon bars are divine!
This is an awesome store. EVERYTHING is GF and delicious. 4 in family are GF (3 celiacs). Not one reacted. Their selections included: GF Croissants, Chocolate croissants, almond croissants, eclairs, cinnamon rolls, cookies, bagels, donuts, pop tart like pastry, and many more. Most everything was sampled by at least one person during the 4 days we were in town. Amazing & Great store!! Take out only, no in-store eating.
Ive been eating here for years and its always amazing. I love their croissants (every flavor) and Ive been a huge fan of their cannolis recently and I love their tres leches cake when they have it. If you eat gluten free in DC or northern VA i really recommend going to one of their locations!
I came in over the weekend and got a tres leches cake for my husband and an apple turnover and vegan chocolate cookies for myself and they were absolutely the best we found in the area! We were nearby in Reston for a little trip away from home and I had a sweet tooth and they definitely satisfied it for me!
Amazing GF baked goods and pastry. It’s honestly good that they aren’t in my hometown because it would be a problem:). Owner is extremely friendly as well.
After hearing about Rise Bakery from friends, we stopped by to see what their food was like. Everything is gluten-free, and other potential allergens are clearly marked. Picked up their brioche buns, biscuits, and a couple of ham and cheese croissants to go. Croissants taste best when heated. Biscuits are buttery and flaky, and brioche buns hold up well for sandwiches. Enjoyed then experience. Take out only.
Every time I come, even if I come right when they open everything is hard and not warm. Chocolate croisant always have a hard stick of chocolate in it. Cinnamon bun, good luck trying to eat that and getting it out of ur teeth. Again very hard pastries, they should offer to warm thing up at least. And if they do ive never been asked if I wanted anything heated up.
Disappointing based on the other reviews. I had the ham and cheese croissant cold and it was dense. It definitely needs to be heated before eating. The carrot cake cupcake was dry and crumbly and the frosting overly sweet. The cherry oatmeal cookies were nothing special either, especially for the price. I have been to better bakeries.
