Ristorante Antipasti

Delicious meal! Our sever was very knowledgeable about gluten. I had the chicken piccata with a side of gluten free penne. I also had the Caesar salad. The owner came to check on me and confirm my gluten free entree. Only gf option for dessert was ice cream but I was thankful they were knowledge and knew. So glad we went!

I called ahead and was told they could accommodate gluten free and also had gf pasta and would be able to do most entrees gluten free. Upon arrival I asked about gf options and I was told none of the entrees could be made gluten free and when I asked they stated the gf pasta is cooked in same water as regular pasta. I asked if it could be made in separate water. The server was very sweet in having no problem in asking the chef and was great in identifying apps that were gluten free. The owner then did come out and told me there should be no problem cooking the gf pasta in same water since it gets to 200 degrees!!! I think him that is not gf and cross contamination is a big issue. He was actually annoyed by my answer and later I was told they could make it but it would be an extra 8.50 for the pasta on the side of a piece of plain grilled halibut. Never in over 13 years have I had a restaurant over charge such a ridiculous amount for a small side of gluten free pasta because they had to use a separate pot of water. I will never eat there again.

In reading the previous posts, I decided to ask about their GF options first. Glad I did! Yes they have GF pasta and yes they will cook it separately - but you have to ask/ tell them you have Celiacs. They explained that many people come in asking for GF but then say they are not allergic...unfortunately, Antipasti decided to default to cooking the pasta together if you don’t tell them. The penne with sausage was very good. For dessert - I HAD A BOWL OF CANNOLI FILLING!!!!!! Yum!!!!!!

Definitely on the expensive side, but it’s OC - so everything is. Our waitress was fantastic.

I did not ask about other foods if they could be prepared GF or not.

While they have GF pasta, be aware that the pasta is cooked in the SAME water as gluten pasta. Additionally the spice they use on the steaks and fish has wheat in it. Food tastes fantastic but unfortunately not celiac safe.

The food here is excellent! I was so delighted to have gluten free pasta with their delicious sauce. Waitstaff was very knowledgeable.
