Under normal circumstances, I probably would not have given this place a chance. First, the menu does not specify gluten free options, and, second, I tend to steer away from Italian restaurants. However, I had just arrived in LA after a long flight, and this restaurant is located in the hotel where I’m staying. So, out of convenience, I decided to give it a try and ended up being pleasantly surprised. I really had a great experience from the food to the service to the atmosphere. I can honestly say this is one of the better Italian restaurants I have been to in a long time. My family is Italian and I lived over there for a few years. Going to Italian restaurants back home in NJ and NY, I always seem to find myself incredibly disappointed. That was not the case here. The food was excellent. Plus, the waiter was very helpful and patient with me. I appreciate that he went back to ask the chef if he was unsure about anything. I ended up subbing gluten free pasta (penne) in the orecchiette birria. I highly recommend it. The pasta was cooked perfectly. For dessert, the cake with ginger ice cream was gluten free and tasted amazing. The portions may be small for some but I thought it was perfect. The cool decor was an added bonus. I will definitely eat here at least one more time during my stay.
