I've had coffee here once or twice a week for two years, no gluten reactions. They also serve biscotti from 5 B's, the best local gluten-free bakery - and they have a freezer case that often has cupcakes, rolls, English muffins, pizza crusts, uncooked fresh pasta, loaves of bread, and desserts. Since they are frozen, these are for taking home and not eating in - so a snack with coffee is limited to biscotti. All the GF goods are wrapped in plastic with their labels from the bakery on them, including the biscotti - so no CC.
On top of that, the baristas are always welcoming despite being busy. When it's quiet, there's lots of tables and a couch - and if the cafe is full, there's a small park just outside and a river two blocks away to walk along if you want a view with your drink. Farmer's Markets in summer are Saturday mornings until 2 pm, and just a block away.
I LOVE getting all the amazing 5 B’s Bakery items they sell at Ristretto’s. FIVE STARS!!
