Rita's has both Icee and custard options in a variety of flavors. Specialty flavors offered they their spring thru fall scheduled openings.. We enjoy the Cotton Candy flavored icee (our #1, even 'tho we're on our 70's !!) and Black Cherry or Mango icee. Custard are very good but we prefer our #1 icee when available. Service was friendly. Great T-shirt & magnet offered specifically for Hilton Head Island (HHI). Their 2nd "store" , on the same property in Coligny Center is a kiosk: fall hrs are @5-9pm ( summer : longer day into evening hrs.) They both will close for his season (2022) on Oct. 30.@9pm

Our daughter (who has celiac) loved the slushies or Italian ice from Rita's. Great option for a fun treat on the island! My only issue is that some of the staff seemed very "deer in the headlights" when I asked about the gluten free options.

The people working there today were not very knowledgeable but were able to look things up on an allergy list. I was able to get the swirl chocolate and vanilla custard. I think some if not all of their ice’s are gf. I have been to another somewhere else so know a lot of things are gf.

Delicious! No cones to causes cross-contamination. All the Italian ice and custard flavors are gluten-free. I had the Georgia Peach Italian ice.

All Italian ice flavors are gluten free. Custard is also gluten free, so gelati is an option too.
