While I appreciate the designations of GF on the menu I found them missing on the dessert menu. More could be added to the regular menu including more substitutions to make an item GF. For example the two taco dishes were not GF because of a flour tortilla. Seriously? Most places I go to readily substitute corn for flour tortillas or put the meal in a bowl. I was told corn tortilla not available and a bowl (omitting tortilla) was not workable as there was no other starch subs such as rice available. Well I’d suggest an offering of say, more lettuce, some veggies, mixed greens, beans, potato, serving of corn tortilla chips? Same with the complimentary hummus offered -no options for the GF and the server knew of GF status before we ordered drinks. Cut veggies or corn chips work. She was knowledgeable and a good server but the lack of anything to draw back a GF customer is top down stuff not server level.
Upon me asking about desserts, the server identified the crème brûlée as GF as well as the espresso ice cream dish that I did not want. Technically NY style cheesecake is crust-less so that could have been an option but I tend not to ask too many in depth questions of servers as they are usually busy/have to check with the kitchen which is time consuming. I also have brought my own toasted bagel to brunch because there are never options for me bread wise.
