After eating here twice in one weekend for breakfast without any issues I feel comfortable writing a review! I have Celiac Disease AND lactose intolerance and they were more than accommodating. I’m a lobster lover and had to have their lobster Florentine omelet both days. They make gluten free English muffins and home fries!! The omelet was made with water instead of milk, and was chalk full of lobster, tomato and spinach. It was to die for and I had to go back the next day to get it again. I am very sensitive and get sick over the smallest pinch of cross contamination and had no issues either time. I would highly recommend The Roost if you’re in the area! 5 Stars all around. :)
We have eaten brunch here a few times and my celiac son had terrific meals every time. Very accommodating servers.
Staff overwhelmed by lunchtime crowd, food delicious but sick for remainder of day and night after eating it.
Our meals were delicious. We have two people in my party that have celiac. We had great calamari with sweet and spicy chili sauce. I had lemon roast chicken special with sour cream mashed potatoes, sunchokes and pattypan summer squash. It was soo good. My friend had gluten free Korean short-rib tacos that she said were amazing! For dessert we shared coconut flan which was good. Service was on the slower casual side it very friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. Would definitely come back and recommend for celiac diners.
The atmosphere was very cozy and the food was amazing. I can't wait to go back! I have celiac and I had no problems.
I highly recommend this amazing place. The staff are so knowledgeable about gluten free food. They have a fabulous selection of gluten free options. They have separate fryer.
Staff was incredible. Knowledgeable of both GF and other allergies. Chef is made aware of all allergies and prepares food specifically for you. We have allergies to Gluten, Dairy, Soy, almond, and Paprika. Been there twice. Great time and great food.
No separate menu but most items can be made gluten free. Got a Rueben and was probably the best one I've ever had, was even able to have fries. This place is excellent! We got a blueberry muffin from the bakery to take home which was just ok.
Fantastic! So many gf options, went for breakfast and had a choice of corn or blueberry muffin with my meal. Food is incredible and so is the staff. Our waiter was well informed and helpful. We will be back, probably have most of our meals at the Roost. Definitely worth checking it out.
Very impressed with the gluten free options here. Being newly diagnosed with celiac disease I'm still learning how to navigate menus and figure out where I can safely eat. This was not only fantastic food and service but knowing that the staff clearly understood my needs was a huge relief . We will probably eat here everyday the entire trip ! I wish I didn't live 2 hours away or I'd be a regular for sure . Thanks roost for making my vacation even better !
Amazing GF options and all delicious! Breakfast lunch and dinner!
Many gluten free options for breakfast including fresh toast and pancakes. They use Udi's bread for their French toast. They also have a bakery on site that offers gluten free blueberry muffins and scones and a zucchini bread. No dedicated kids menu but they are certainly willing to cut down potions for them.
My husband and I both had a gluten free lunch. He had a tuna melt and liked it. I had a steak sandwich and was disappointed that the meat was awful tough. I had fries and he had sweet potato waffle fries. We had water with our meals and it was about $40 without the tip. It was exciting to have such a large selection of GF items on the menu, but I wouldn't recommend the steak and cheese sandwich.
fantastic they habe gluten free batter crab cakes the best!!!!!!!
I have celiac disease plus a number of other allergies. I just had an amazing meal there that was completely safe for me. The staff was wonderful, attentive and thorough. I especially recommend the mussels! Highly recommend!
Pretty pricey, plus a $2 upcharge for gluten free. They have a good selection for brunch. Food was good, but nothing amazing. GF English muffin was very crumbly.
Don't really want to give away or favorite place but Roost is just Awesome. 100% celiac safe. they even make their own GF bread :) The owners go out of their way to make sure you're happy.
Exceptional food! Great presentation! Wonderful ambiance! There is a new chef and menu. Gluten free items are clearly marked on menu.
Great Place! Very Celiac friendly. Nice Variety of GF items. I'll be back next time I'm in the area.
Very extensive gf menu and knowledgable staff. Best gf pancakes I've ever had and the rest of my party raved about pancakes and omelettes too.
Had a good breakfast here and no gluten issues, but the family definitely preferred Cafe Amore down the street. The corned beef hash was the kind with big pieces of corned beef and very oily -- not what I was hoping for. I'd definitely give it another try as it was a cute place and the waitress was nice.
Knowledgeable and willing and able to do GF right! I heard that the owner is GF so that explains why. They even have a dedicated fryer and offer GF fish and chips! They also can bring you GF bread when you are seated so you don't have to hungrily watch others eating delicious wheat bread while perusing the menu.
Great menu and understand GF. Chris is an awesome bartender. Try the best infused vodka.
I crave their gluten free blueberry pancakes....and let's not forget the hash!
I was so sick could not make it downtown. Cross contamination
Very expensive but it was great to have a crab cake eggs Benedict!!
excellent! great selection. I had GF fish and chips. thrilled to have something I usually can't order.
Brilliant place. Lots of gluten free options! I had home fries with corn beef hash and 2 eggs. It was amazing. Waiter was excellent. Highly recommend it.
This is my go-to place while eating in OGT. All GF dishes at breakfast come on colored plates.
Nice place with many gluten free options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert.
Love this place. Great food. Great for celiacs. Separate fryer. No complaints.
While on vacation for a long weekend, I am not embarrassed in the least to admit my partner and I ate at the same place for all three mornings. The first morning, we were so torn on what to have, we just decided to order our first choices and then come back the next day to try our second choices.... and then we decided to come back again for our third choices! All three mornings, we both got two different options and shared them, and we did not once find a single thing we did not like. We don't live in a place with much for gluten-free breakfast options, so this was like a miracle. The french toast, lemon ricotta pancakes, the Florentines, the omelets, the staff, the decor... Perfect!
Excellent! Very knowledgeable about GF and indicate on the menu which items can be made GF- which is the majority of items! Love the quaint atmosphere and will return again and again! We ate here for breakfast and this may have been my favorite meal of my entire trip - outstanding!
Very accommodating ...ribs are good. Lots of gluten free options.
looked great and two out of three were ok, the last one was not. a small slip
Great service and amazing gluten free menu. They have a separate cook top and fryer so you can have French fries! Very good, will be back....
This was amazing! The fish and chips were excellent, and there were very few items that could not be made GF! Keep room for dessert - we recommend the lemon curd cake and the carrot cake!
Fantastic selection of gf breakfast items. Great tasting food and warm atmosphere.
A little pricey but worth the money. Great atmosphere, great knowledgable staff and lots of options. Everything was phenomenal! Even the host made sure I knew that they have separate kitchen appliances and they do everything they can to be safe. Loved it there!
Service was so slow!! I didn't enjoy the batter on my fish & chips and by the time the waiter finally brought us our food my fries were cold and tough to chew. I'd never go back here. I only gave them 2 stars because I appreciate the fact they have so many GF options. They need to train their staff!
out of control! I have family that lives an hour away..I wondered why they would make the drive to go out for breakfast but it totally makes sense. I had the corned beef hash which was great. It's very reassuring to know pretty much the whole menu is gluten-free. The only negative was that they were out of carrot cake! I cannot wait to go back-
This place was amazing!!! I haven't been able to have calamari in forever because of my allergy and this was the first time since and it was so good I wouldn't have been able to see the difference
Great, friendly atmosphere. Fully stocked bar. Decent wine selection. There must be at least 50 gluten free options between breakfast and dinner. $2 up charge for gluten free items. I've ordered the fish and chips, lobster roll, Cuban pork, and the roasted Salmon. All of them were excellent. The clam chowder is great! Breakfast is my favorite. I like the "crabby granny" which is a omelet with local crab, sautéed sweet onion and Brie cheese with a hollandaise sauce (I ask for the chipotle version) my wife always gets two poached eggs with a generous amount of lobster and hollandaise sauce. It included potato and choice of white toast or English muffin. I'VE NEVER BEEN SICK FROM CONTAMINATION HERE. I've been there about 10 times in the last year. They put the gluten free items on beautiful blue plates as opposed to all white plates. This helps everyone in the restaurant including the consumer know its gluten free. They are very accommodating!I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Omg!!! Gluten free fried haddock???!! In a separate kitchen and fryer?!? Yes please! The food is so great here and so many gluten free choices! Hooray!!
Excellent gf options. We had gf creme brûlée french toast and also the blueberry pancakes . Really delicious and so many options.
Lots of breakfast choices. Most things can be made gf. Including bread muffins pancakes French toast! Very tasty and good portions.
My breakfast place of choice! If only it was closer to where we live. 30 minute drive is so worth it to enjoy their Burgers or Pancakes. I was so very pleased.
Wow!! One of the best breakfasts ever! I went with two friends who are not gf and they both loved their meals as well (one had a lobster and Brie omelet and the other had lobster eggs Benedict ). I had gf blueberry pancakes which were light and fluffy and packed with blueberries- not just a few sprinkled on top. Waitstaff was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Almost everything on the menu could be prepared gf and all items were clearly marked. I will be back for sure!
The Roost is open for dinner as well. We have frequented this restaurant several times over the past 3 months. I can attest to their, Woodman and Swine and Swiss omelets. The sausage used in the Woodsman is incredible and the Swine & Swiss is fantastically balanced in its array of flavors. The Creme Brulee French Toast with its caramelized sugar was moist and sinfully good. They make a homemade orange marmalade that is out of the world. I even purchased some to take home! We had a delicious evening dinner as well. My husband had sea scallops topped with diced bacon on a bed of pecans and walnuts, I believe, with home-made butternut gnocchi. We shared an appetizer of tempura mixed vegetables. I had fish and chips with fresh waffle cut sweet potato fries. I cannot say anything negative about this restaurant. Even their wait staff is out of this world!
Great selection of choices for gluten free, and while they were a bit high priced for breakfast, it wasn't outrageous ($15-20/person). GF toast was ok (a bit burnt), GF creme brulee french toast was good (very dry though), but the GF pancakes were fantastic. Eggs and home fries were outstanding, and while there were a lot of GF options, most were decent, not great.
