Roots Natural Kitchen

I'm staying at Scout on the Circle apartments for a couple of months, so I had to check out Roots, which is on the street level of the building (accessible to anyone, not just apartment residents).

This is a lunch and dinner spot with healthy and tasty bowls, either with a grain base (mostly rice) or greens. All of the menu items are clearly labeled for allergens, including gluten and dairy. They have pre-selected bowl options, or you can do a totally custom bowl. Either way, they put it together right in front of you.

The staff are knowledgeable about allergies, and the person who was making my bowl volunteered that she had just changed her gloves when I mentioned the gluten allergy. Most of the menu is gluten free already, so there were lots of options.

I did a rice bowl for lunch one day and a greens bowl for dinner another day. Both were delicious, and both were plenty big that I had leftovers for another meal later on.

I feel lucky to have a healthy, tasty, and safe option right here!
