We had a great meal at Rose Mary and there are a lot of options for GF outside pasta with the risottos and main dishes. My husband felt safe and didn’t get sick. I will say they were out of GF menus so we sort of had to wing it and the dessert menu wasn’t really well explained for GF options. Other than that as long as you’re good at speaking up you’ll have a great meal and some tasty options.

I’ve been fortunate enough to dine here twice and have throughly enjoyed my meal both times! Our server asked if anyone had allergies or restrictions and immediately brought me a gluten free menu. When a dish was brought to the table and it had an element that was not gluten free, it was left on the side on a separate plate and was identified. I was dining with gluten eaters and when they brought the pasta dish they reminded the table it was not GF. I feel very safe eating here. Every dish is flavorful and different from the next. Was thrilled with the variety in flavors and extensive gluten free menu

Food taste was excellent! There is a separate gluten free menu if you ask for it, which has almost everything except the pasta dishes. However, the menu was outdated (asparagus dish said lamb but it was pork). Didn’t get sick! The risotto is very rich but good!

Best dinner I had on a recent weekend in Chicago. We had the tuna crudo, veal risotto, heirloom tomato salad without the croutons, and the mushroom side. It was absolutely delicious and the waiter was incredible.

The staff was knowledgeable and courteous when I brought up my allergy. When I told them I had celiac they brought out a menu with gf items circled. It was a fantastic experience!

The normal menu isn’t marked for allergens; I attended a private event here and they printed menus for the event that marked a farro salad as GF and dishes with pecorino and prosciutto were marked vegan. I pulled the server aside to talk about it and they said “we’re making different ones for the people who told us allergies.” But it was family style with multiple of the same dish on the table/getting passed around. I pointed out that they should have warned about that and should have marked the menu to say they’re making modifications not just mark the dish as GF/V etc. They pushed back on this quite strongly to insist we were “in good hands”. One of my coworkers is pescatarian and ate the mushroom dish containing prosciutto unknowingly(it wasn’t obvious because it was small bits of crispy prosciutto). It is particularly bad practice to mark a dish containing PORK as vegan when so many people don’t eat pork for religious reasons etc. I did not get sick from the food but I was very thankful my coworker pointed out the farro in the salad description before the salad arrived. They did give my side of the table a salad without farro but I was suspicious at that point and worried about the dishes I had already eaten before noticing that the menu markings were not trustworthy. I probably wouldn’t dine here again and would urge others with allergies or celiac to be very cautious. It seems they are good on the individual level based on other reviews but the event procedures seem risky and I question whether they really understand the risks given how they chose to mark the menu and their defensiveness when it was pointed out to them.

I had a great experience at Rose Mary. I notified the waiter that I had Celiac. He immediately knew the precautions that were needed and went the extra length to get a new menu and write out what options were available for me. The food was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend!
