Sassy Teenages Upon asking the young worker if they could accommodate a severe gluten allergy by using a new scoop and unopened new ice cream of strawberry. the employee simply stated no we can not do anything like that. To add she said it with a tone that was quite sassy. I did end up ordered as she said she could use a new scoop but that’s all. Have not felt sick by time of review but wouldn’t come back
I will have to disagree with the other review. My experience is the complete opposite. The service here is awful. Their process, or should I say lack of, when it comes to dealing with customers and food allergies is non- existent. Poor kid at the window had no idea so they asked the manger. Who came to the window with the biggest attitude and actually said to me "if I have to deal with every person with a nut allergy I wouldn't get anything done!" Mind you I was not referring to a nut allergy. Asked about gluten free options.
So needless to say we don't go back. To bad we live in town but will travel to the "other" ice cream places. Who are AWESOME when it comes to food allergies.
The shop has a sign on their window stating they cannot guarantee safety for the top allergies. But I asked the young girl working the window about allergy precautions for gluten and they were able to accommodate! She noted there is only one ice cream itself that has gluten. She was able to scoop me gluten free dairy free ice cream from a new bin with a new scoop, washed her hands first, and even cleaned the nozzle of the peanut butter topping dispenser before using it just to ensure safety. Based on these precautions I felt safe giving it a try and it worked out for the best! Very tasty and felt great afterward
