Came here for breakfast based on reviews. I have celiac disease and a soy allergy. They checked all ingredients and cook came out to confirm a couple items. It was so great to have breakfast out. Usually struggle due to soy allergy. They have dedicated fryer and used canola oil so I was able to have home fries that were delicious. Would definitely come back here if in the area again. Cute diner atmosphere as well.
I am obsessed with this place! The owner has celiac and the restaurant is family owned and run, so you can rest assured that all of the staff with take your dietary requirements seriously.
The owner makes her own gluten free bread, and keeps everything separate and clean for cross contamination. She even makes 1 gluten free pie flavor daily!
I always get an omelette with white American cheese, onions, and ham. With home fries and gluten free toast on the side. Always delicious!
So excited to have found this place! Cute retro decor, family run, very clean. The owner, Emily, has celiac so really understands the importance of avoiding cross contamination. The kitchen has a separate area to prepare gluten free options. The gluten free waffles are excellent! She makes the gluten free bread and there are always at least one gf pie available and the gf pecan rolls are amazing! All this plus great friendly service makes Route 66 diner a welcome spot for us gf people!
Daughter is celiac and they had dedicated dryers, waffles irons and did glove changes . They were very informed and the food was so good! As a 6 year old learning a new diet this place made her feel so happy! She got the cinnamon roll, waffles and bacon! We will definitely be back π
Excellent Gluten Free options!
The quality, service & portions have greatly improved since opening. I'm impressed with their progress.
The GF cheese steak tater tots were amazing! We always enjoy their GF waffles π
They now have GF. Cinnamon Buns and other options. I wish we lived closer.
The wife of the owner is gluten free!! They had homemade gluten free bread that was absolutely delish and they also had gluten free homemade cinnamon rolls. They could make ANY of the items accessible for gluten guests. They treat it as an allergy if you and ensure no cross contamination. The owner himself came out and gave me the cinnamon rolls I ordered and let me know that there was nothing to worry about.
They hand make their own gluten free bread and use it for their sandwiches. The bread was beautiful and tasty! GF tater tots were amazing! My two kids also are gluten free and had a GF waffle and omelette with home fries. Also delicious!
