This is Iowa’s iconic grill-your-own steakhouse with legendary steaks and open hearth grills. The only fried item is their famous skillet potatoes, and they are not breaded. The fryer is dedicated gluten-free. Gluten free rolls are available in place of Texas toast. You can request a skillet and your own grill tongs to cook your steak and toast. You can also get foil to cover your space at the grill if you’d like. The seasonings are gluten free. The owners daughter has celiac so they made changes years ago to accommodate. However, there is not a dedicated gluten free kitchen. Staff is careful and changes gloves when handling your food. Their steaks are amazing. There’s also chicken, pork, tuna and veggie skillets as an entree. The salad is delicious and comes with their homemade croutons, so be sure to tell them to leave the croutons off your salad. Just ask the manager for what you might need, and they are very helpful and will try to accommodate you!
