Very aware of GF issues. Unfortunately they don't have a dedicated fryer but they do have hamburger rolls and made different accommodations to replace the fries.
Be VERY careful eating at this location. The server was very nice and reassuring about using separate utensils etc so we ordered gf pasta with butter for my 4 year old with celiac. The dish came served with visible bread crumbs on it (fell from another dish for our table the food runner was carrying?) They offered to remake it but I was too nervous to let her eat there after that. We ended up getting her soft serve frozen yogurt from the mall for lunch instead. :/
The food at this location was very good and I didn’t get sick from anything. The servers; however, were not knowledgeable and claimed not to know how food was processed through the kitchen, so they couldn’t promise that there was no cross-contamination. I have a nut allergy as well, and the waiter told me that allergies always cause issues for them. He then called the manager over and she agreed. This chain is generally good, but if you have a severe allergy please don’t go to this location.
The staff dismissed my request for a gluten free meal, and brought me a burger with a regular bun. When I mentioned the bun didn’t look gluten free, he took it back and just swapped the bun trying to give me the same burger that had already been on a standard bun. I had to damage the burger and send it back a second time to ensure I got one that wouldn’t make me sick. Of course, this leaves me wondering what they may have done to my food.
Gluten free menu is in a separate book so give yourself time to plan your order because it lists ingredients that you have to compare to the main menu to figure out what you can have. They do have gluten free buns though and several other items once you figure it out.
Food was good. GF bun was a little chewy and dry. Server was helpful.
Love to eat here! Ask for the GF menu and make sure server knows you must have GF. The kitchen manager is willing to work to keep it safe. Staff shows cocern also. Great GF bun for a burger! Salad bar is great as GF menu lists what is GF. No problems eating here. Update: new GF menu as of 6/18.
The manager overheard us ask us for a GF menu. He followed us to our table and went through the menu with me and my son! He suggested a bbq sauce and brought out a little sample for my son to try before he ordered it. Our server then was very patient and helpful to us. We had a great meal and great experience!
This is the first time that we’ve eaten at a Ruby Tuesday since my daughter was diagnosed. She absolutely loved the hamburger bun to the point that I got nervous maybe it wasn’t GF — but it was! She had a side salad because the french fries are not cooked in a dedicated fryer but she really enjoyed the salad too. The server wasn’t particularly aware of GF issues but was very helpful. It actually gave me confidence that the restaurant chain must have good protocols in the kitchen.
They have a menu that has a list of just partial items that are gluten free however it is not user friendly at all. I was instructed then to go online with was better, however they really don’t have options for someone with Celiacs. I would not recommend it.
The staff was nice but didn’t seem very knowledgeable about gluten. They did not have a gf menu at the restaurant...I had to pull it up on my phone. I ended up having a baked potato and cooked broccoli, and it hasn’t settled well. I’m suspicious that there could have been cross-contamination, but I don’t know for sure.
We asked the hostess if they had a gluten free menu when we came in and she pulled out a binder for us to look over that had detailed information on all their gluten-free options. The server was friendly and knowledgeable and took great care of us. We'll definitely be back.
Raven was a super, knowledgeable staff member. They have a separate binder that contains many options, including GF. RT even offers a GF bun!! Moreover, they list GF options that are located on their salad bar. I will definitely visit there again when passing through Lumberton.
ate here twice on vacation. they brought our gfree food out separate and it was awesome. great food, better service. no reaction fr9m myself or my son and we arw both ciliac. only place i will eat when we are in pooler ga. thank you all for the amazing treatment
The menu online seems acceptable, but this location has no printed DF GF menus. I used the menu online but they did not have all of the options listed. They were also out of chicken breast, and cook everything in margarine (off limits for me) Our server was very nice and didn’t charge me for the salad.
Ordered steak, a potato, and green beans all off the gf menu and explained I am intolerant and will get sick. They fed me my food and here I am....sick. Not to mention, the place isn't all that clean. This is unfortunate considering they are the only place to eat in a 30min radius.
The waitress nor manager knew anything about gluten free except that they have a GF bun. They could not answer a question if one of the sauces they use in a hamburger was GF. We waited for over 30 minutes and had 3 different persons come ask if we were having a problem with GF. We finally left and at first they charged us $17.00 for two teas, we questioned the charge and then got the correct change back. I’d give less than one star if I could.
The salad bar is terrifying! I have Gluten and dairy allergy. The staff put blue cheese in the egg container. Nasty surprise in my salad, but luckily I caught it early enough that I didn’t get enough to make me ill. They have some good options from the menu for gluten free but this is limited
Hostess was not helpful, when I asked about GF options she told me to go on my phone to the website and the allergen menu would be there for me. Um, okay. Luckily the server was good and would go double check items with the kitchen. They did have a decent list of options to choose from but not the best. My daughter ordered a salmon dish and it wasn’t cooked all the way so that was not good. I didn’t get sick and that’s always a bonus but I’m giving 3 stars because I was not very impressed on the whole.
Specialized menu divided into allergen categories was nice. The waitress was friendly and willing to ask questions for us on how foods are prepared. I ordered what I thought was pretty basic chicken with grilled zucchini and steamed green beans. I was extremely bloated within half hour later. The zucchini was not simply grilled as it had a salty sauce. Not sure what was in the food but It definitely didn’t agree with me.
The special diet menu is only online. This doesn't help people that don't have a phone or don't have it with them. I explained to my server that I could not have dairy so that meant no butter could touch my food. My Zucchini was smothered in butter and the salmon was touching it. We waited quite a long time for our food considering that it was about 120 when we arrived. We left at 240.
Though the waitress was helpful, after much discussion about the seriousness of cross-contamination and keeping all gluten items far away from my salad, she brought the salad to me with flatbread laying on the lettuce. I explained to her that she needed to replate the entire salad. She took it back to the kitchen yelling at someone and on her return, assured me everything was free from gluten contamination. She was wrong however, as I was sick all afternoon.
