Great bowls and plantains. Fantastic rum cakes. I grabbed a GF one and they stopped me. They asked if I needed the GF one, they wanted to make sure that they had them in stock for people who needed GF. It’s a great stop when visiting Blue Ridge.

This place was really good!. I had a turkey cubano with gluten free bread. They asked if I had celiac and told me they had a separate preparation station and grill for the gluten free sandwiches. I didn’t get sick!

While they have GF listed, the cashier is very up front that they may have contamination due to the small space where they prepare food. We have been here in the past and talked with the owner who took contamination concerns very seriously. We no longer get that impression. That said, we still ate here and our Celiac daughters didn’t get sick.

Yum! Homemade cooking gluten free and the owner she knew about exactly what was gf and what had cross contamination.. I had that pork bowl very tender meat, husband had a delicious looking Cuban.. will definitely be back!

Anytime I am in this area, I make sure to stop by and get her delicious GF mini rum cakes (golden is my fav) and the incredible Cuban on soft GF bread. A side of maduros to top it off. The owners are often on-site and the service is always friendly and efficient! I know it’s more work for her to offer the GF options, but wow it is SO appreciated!!! ❤. Don’t miss trying this place- you will leave with a happy, full soul~

The GF bread on the Tampa Cuban sandwich was so good I almost didn’t believe it was GF! They also had moist and delicious GF Rum Butter Bundt cakes 🤤.

This is a little “hole in the wall” place just outside of Blue Ridge with equally amazing food and service! The ladies were extremely friendly and my gluten free limoncello rum cake was fantastic! I am a very sensitive celiac and had no reaction.

Definetely safe! Good options. Dessert is the best. Adorable environment Got the pork bowl - very good but bland. Got the beef bowl - was decent but not as good as pork bowl Got plantains - good The deserts - excellent!!! They are pre made so can take as many as you want! We got chocolate salted caramel and lemon. It’s worth it to just go there and get the desserts! Also they have gf caramel flan in the fridge when you walk in which looks good

Awesome staff and holy smokes. The Cuban was pretty good especially since it’s been two years without!

Update 2022- They gave me the wrong bread. I Nima tested it because I was concerned. Be sure to double check you got gluten free!

Update 2023- I’m so disappointed. They don’t cook the subs separately anymore and Nima tested showing gluten. I’m SO bummed.

My daughter had the pork, beans, and rice which were delicious and Celiac safe. They also have several gluten free desserts. They were very knowledgeable as the woman I ordered from was Celiac and let me know what my daughter could safely have. The gluten free bread was great but unfortunately the sandwiches are not Celiac safe because they are made on the same presses.

We absolutely loved this place! We loved it so much we went twice AND ordered extra to bring home. We ended up going to both locations. Not only did we feel 100% safe with plenty of gluten free options, they were able to make a Cuban dairy free for me. They were even willing to wrap it to press it so that it was safe from cross contamination.

Over the two days we ordered the Cuban, the chicken bowl, the pork bowl, rice and beans, sweet plantains, tamales, and my daughter and husband had some rum cake. Everything was delicious and absolutely worth it.

The staff was awesome. The Cuban was great. It was on a gluten free hoagie roll which is rare! The bread was actually somewhat moist. It was great to be able to eat a Cuban again!

I’m conflicted over whether to write a review since it means more people will find this restaurant but it is for good that I do so. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I am not celiac but am sensitive to actually eating gluten. I get a reaction 15 minutes later. I ate a Cuban on gf bread (it’s huge) and black beans and rice. Topped it off with a gf salted caramel rum cake. Delicious!!!

Overall, we found Blue Ridge fun but not a GF friendly place to eat. We ate here out of desperation and ended up having excellent Cuban sandwiches and even better rum cake. This place is outdoor seating only and primarily take out business in colder weather. A few steps above food truck accommodations- but don’t let that scare you from trying it!

I had high hopes with all the positive reviews but unfortunately I reacted within 45 mins of eating here. The nice man who took my order assured me that since his Mom has celiac they’d clean the kitchen space and make a safe meal. I thought maybe it was a fluke but my husband also got sick the next day. We ordered a rice bowl, GF Cuban sandwich and tamales.

Amazing rum cake! They have a few gluten free safe items but come here for the mini Bundt cake. The owner is terrific!

So good!! Authentic Cuban food and great gluten free options including Cuban bread!! I'm from Tampa and gf Cuban bread is hard to find there much less this far north! I was like a kid in a candy store I was so happy. Must try for gf & non-gf alike. So many options and the staff ask automatically if you're celiac or not so they can prep the kitchen appropriately

Owner is very knowledgable and helpful have ate there many times before diet and now after I frequent there. One of the only places around that has food I can eat. With my diet.

The owner and her sister both have a gluten sensitivity. The staff is great with taking extra precautions and the food is delicious! I eat here any time I’m in Blue Ridge and have NEVER gotten sick.

This was our first time eating here and it was so good! My husband has Celiac so finding places that understand having to eat gluten free is challenging. They told us our order would take a little longer because they would need to clean the grill. Understanding the cross contamination thing scored points from the get-go! The GF Cuban sandwich was absolutely amazing! The GF rum cake was out if this world! If you're ever in the vicinity of this place you need to visit! It's well worth it!

Delicious Gluten Free bread for Cuban sandwiches! Gluten free desserts: caramel flan, cheesecake flan, rum cake, Limoncello rum cake, Chocolate rum cake. Gluten Free and dairy free food bowls, rice and beans, baked sweet plantains. Not a dedicated facility but takes precautions to prevent cross-contamination.

LOVVVVE this place!! They order special Cuban bread for gluten free Cuban sandwiches and the woman who makes them avoids gluten herself and takes special precautions. They are pressed in a separate panini press. The bowls and tamales are also gluten free and delicious and their CAKES OHHH THEIR CAKES are soooo good. Wonderful restaurant!

This is our favorite restaurant in Blue Ridge! Barbara is in the kitchen and knows the best practices to avoid cross contamination. They have GF bread for Cubans, but in limited supply so call before you go. There are GF bowls and rum cakes though. DIVINE!!!! This location has one picnic table or you take your food to go.
