Sakana Sushi & Grill

I loved their sushi pre-allergy. Post-allergy, not so much. In order to remove the allergens, they had to sacrifice some of the delicious flavor.

I am giving it 3 stars, as we did not actually eat the food. I am visiting from out of town. We went here with family because of the older good reviews, and we were particularly looking for sushi. They brought out the gf sushi menu. There were lots of options, but only 1 or 2 that were gf without leaving out a major sauce component. Also, we were sat at the bar, and no one even asked what we wanted for any food or drinks for a significant amount of time.

Excited to finally find a GREAT TASTING GF sushi place in Mesa! Lots of GF sushi roll options. Chef and servers knowledgeable. I have Celiac and didn't have any trouble! They also carry GF soy. I notified the server about my allergy and she was very helpful. Menu has starred items that are GF but they also have a GF roll list - just ask! My gluten eating husband enjoyed my GF selections as well :)

Awesome gluten free menu options and very knowledgeable staff. Great sushi!!!

Their rice is gluten-free, they carry gluten-free soy sauce, and the miso soup is gluten-free. And of course if you state you have a gluten allergy they will assist you and what you were able to eat, which is pretty much about everything except deep-fried anything!!!
