I went for a work dinner. Since I was going with a large group, I called ahead to confirm that they had gluten-free options. The menu is marked with a symbol for gluten-free items BUT my group ordered a few appetizers, two of which were marked as gluten-free, and when I asked the server to confirm, he told me that actually one had breadcrumbs and one contained flour. I ended up ordering butter chicken, and it was very good and did not make me sick, but I do not feel great about a restaurant with a menu that erroneously labels items as gluten-free.
They have gluten free items marked in their menu, but the symbol is almost exactly the same as the one for vegan. I told the waiter we wanted gluten free but when we ordered something that was vegan but not gluten free he did not say anything. So I ended up eating a mouthful of it, and suspicious I confirmed and was told sorry that was vegan but not gluten free. They need to redesign their menu and train their staff.
*Edited to add that gluten was found by my Nima sensor in all dishes at the lunch buffet. So I would recommend only going for dinner when you can get custom made food.
All dishes I ordered got a smiley face on my Nima sensor. This is my new go-to Indian place for serious GF curries. They seemed to understand cross contamination here and I didn't get sick. Yay!
