I had the hold the gluten entree, it was grilled shrimp, flounder and French fries. It was very good and I had no reaction. Fries are cooked in dedicated fryer.

Stopped in and was pleasantly surprised to find out they had a dedicated gf menu. Waitress brought out the other guests meals and manager brought mine out separately wearing gloves. Very impressed with the food and will definitely be back again due to how safe I felt dining there!

We went to the Salty Dog cafe based on the great reviews. I did not get the pizza but I did have the French fries. They were great and I did not get sick. However, the reviews failed to mention that the only fried food available gluten free is French fries. I got the barbecue chicken sandwich minus the roll, and it was okay. The restaurant smelled like old grease from the fryer and children were crying the entire time.

The food was amazing. I informed them that I was celiac and they made sure that there was no cross contamination. They have a wide variety gluten free menu. The manager even brought me my food to make sure of no cross contamination!!

We tried this place after reading other reviews. What a gem! Separate GF menu. Manager said they have less traffic than other locations so go to great lengths to make GF food yummy. And yummy it is! On a 4-day trip we ate there 3 times, twice in pleasant outdoor seating with our dog. I had Jake’s Salad, burger, and salmon (with an extra side of French fries ‘cause they are so good!). My husband had cheeseburger, combo plate, and a pizza. He said best GF crust ever had. Everything so good! My only complaint was my medium rare burger was charred on outside, which I don’t like. But I didn’t send it back. I had zero adverse reactions, which was extraordinary after being “glutened” at another restaurant left me with multiple canker sores that even trace amounts of gluten will irritate. So try this Salty Dog Cafe; you won’t be disappointed.

The GF hamburger buns were tasty. Wish I could by them for personal use.

I have Celiac and I thought the staff and kitchen was very knowledgeable!! I had a grilled fish sandwich on a GF roll!! It was very good!

Celiac friendly?

Yes

Restaurant recently implemented a GF menu and while staff may need continuous training on celiac, they were friendly and very helpful. I ended up getting the CoD burger with bacon and GF bun. It was amazing. I also got fries with it that were made to order for the GF menu which were to die for. I didn’t have a reaction here but I’d caution future patrons to ask the appropriate GF questions to make sure standards don’t slip over time. I will definitely be back next time I’m shopping at Tanger.
