Part One: Kim is an amazing owner. Sushi was really great and everything (Except tempura of course) can be made gluten free. I have eaten several times without incident and their lunch special is unbeatable (2 rolls for 10 or 3 for 13) and the Miso soup is Gluten Free!!!!!!! Yes the Miso is safe, hallelujah. Only place I have found in town so far with safe miso. Gonna try the hibachi this weekend as their Sunday lunch is also huge value and they go to great lengths for a safe experience according to the owner Kim.Can’t speak for off menu items but they say the woks they use are sanitized between each meal prepped.I love this place👍👍
Part Two: 😱Sadly, in the interest of full disclosure, I had lunch here yesterday and there was a miscommunication between server and chef. I think an underestimation of the gravity of celiac honestly. There were small pieces of “crunch” added to the roll I ordered and I only noticed it after eating a piece😰. Of course the server felt bad when I explained the ramifications, and had the entree made again, but too late. Worst gluten experience I’ve had since diagnosis.
Worst part is staff really seemed to have an understanding of the gravity of celiac. Mistakes are made and I have no hard feelings, but I felt this needed to be disclosed. More training needed at Samurai Sushi.
