Very delicious, safe food! I wish they had more vegan/dairy free options (the only items I can order are gnocchi or pasta primavera). But regardless their primavera is one of the best I’ve had. So safe and the gluten free bread is delicious. Nice to be able to eat out with family without asking 100 questions! Have been twice and really enjoyed it both times. Nice atmosphere and staff too :)
Great experience. All staff is knowledgeable. Gluten free bread for the table. Food was delicious. Got the fried calamari, gnocchi with bolognese and a chicken dish. Large portions too!
I have never been more excited to enjoy a fine Italian meal until here. The menu was extensive, staff was knowledgeable and the flavors were the closest things to being nostalgic of what meals tasted like before I was diagnosed. I always get emotional when I find a place that offers me options that remind me of the past or make me feel hopeful for the future and this place, is a top notch option. You won’t be disappointed!
Delicious food! I haven’t eaten in an Italian restaurant in 2 years! Selection is huge! I felt very safe and didn’t get sick! If you are in this area- it’s a must try!
Best gluten free restaurant!! Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free. Great food, Great staff, Great service and Great place to eat with family and friends.
Fantastic food. They had a lot of options, a gluten free menu, and my food came with one of the “gluten free” indicator toothpick things. 10/10!
the food here was so so good! Getting bread is so uncommon and it came warm and toasted. We got fried calamari and stuff clams which I had never had and again so so good! I loved the bread crumb seasoning in the clams and the fried calamari was crunchy! For dinner I got the veal parm and again bread crumbs tasted amazing!! Huge piece too! My mom got eggplant parm which again was amazing! The pasta it came with was basic but they added lots of cheese which was perf! Looking forward to going back and trying the veal milanese!
Had my first post Celiacs diagnosis meal from San Remo and I was really impressed. They had so many options for me to choose from, along with having separate appliances and stations to protect from CC. I had chicken francese and mashed potatoes which were delicious, fried zucchini sticks, and the best thing I had was the stuffed artichoke! I never thought I’d have that deliciousness again but I was so, so happy to have found San Remo. Highly recommend for gluten-free/celiac safe meals!
I’ve been to this restaurant twice. Both times the food was delicious. The service was great and I did not get sick either time. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent restaurant for gluten free. They have an entire menu that is gluten free and all the food came out labeled and made me feel very safe! The food is delicious too!
I ordered through Grubhub, where the gluten free menu is listed out separately. Both dishes I ordered (a pasta dish and sautéed spinach) had a gluten free sticker on it. It also came with gluten free bread, which I really appreciated even though I never like gluten free bread. I'm going to try it toasted with butter---why not? Will definitely order again.
I don't need to be concerned about cross contamination so I didn't look into that.
Absolutely delicious food with fantastic service! Our first time enjoying a wonderful meal at this great restaurant. We felt very comfortable with our Celiac son eating here, and he enjoyed everything from bread service to dessert! We live in a different state, but cannot wait to go back.
Food is great and staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about gluten and avoiding cross contact. Felt very safe eating here. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Separate gluten free menu. Food came out with gluten free flags. Even offered GF break for table.
This place is awesome. I’ve been avoiding Italian restaurants since being diagnosed with celiac and I’m so glad I found this place. When we came in they asked us if we want a GF menu. It’s an extensive menu. The food was really good and all the gluten free dishes were labeled. I didn’t worry about cross contamination.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. this restaurant is an absolute life saver for someone with celiac disease. i’m the only one in my family who has been diagnosed, so originally when we started ordering food from here they would all get a dish with gluten and i’d get a gluten free dish. after ordering a few times my whole family started getting the gluten free version of a dish bc they taste the same if not better than the meal containing gluten! also this restaurant always gives gf bread and they never charge extra!!
My husband and daughter are both Celiac and I do not eat gluten. We can get gf pasta at different restaurants, but this was so much better. Ravioli?? Yes! What a treat! Gluten free bread to soak up all the stuffed clam sauce, fried calamari in a separate fryer, Caesar salad with homemade gf croutons. My son (no dietary restrictions) enjoyed his food as well. Wait staff very nice, very knowledgeable!
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!
GREAT TASTING GF menu! I wish they were in Westchester County!!
Went to a communion luncheon there last week, Extensive gf menu, food was delicious
This was the first time I was at this restaurant. Having celiac I rarely eat out because I find it too stressful and not worth the risk. But after reading all the good reviews I decided to try because I wanted to take a friend out for her birthday. They definitely understand gluten free and were very accommodating. My food came out separately and was marked gluten free. Warm bread too! I was able to enjoy fried calamari and eggplant rollatini. The food was delicious and the three non celiacs in my group enjoyed their dinners as well. We will definitely return. I am so happy that I have finally found a good local restaurant that I feel safe eating at. Thank you San Remo!
Put in an online order for pick-up and then called to speak to them to say I had Celiac and to take extra precautions with the order. They seemed very on top of it and the woman we spoke to said how they were always careful with gluten free. I had the penne alla vodka and loved it. It tasted like what I grew up with in my Italian family. I always judge Italian food by that standard and I was a happy camper. The portion size was very generous and they included a pack of gluten free bread too. Both were labeled GF. Very pleased and no issues at all! I just wish it cost a bit less.
Favorite Italian restaurant on Long Island! Dedicated gluten free menu and very knowledgeable and friendly staff about gluten free. Very safe and tasty :)
Lots of gluten free options. They are very knowledgeable about gluten free. The food comes out flagged gluten free.
Amazing!!!!!! Not that many GF-friendly restaurants around here with a lot of options. They even had gluten free bread for the table. My pictures aren't amazing because I was stoked to dive in. Everything came out labeled with a lil gluten free flag, which made me feel even more comfortable that there wasn't any cross contamination. We got the gf gnocchi with vodka sauce, the eggplant parm and bread for the table. And the bread was great!! Not easy to find good gf bread nor a restaurant that has it for the table.
Alsssoooo, the service was great! Everyone was so kind and they attended to us the perfect amount. Always had a full glass!
Definitely will be coming back :-)
They have a separate gluten free menu. They seemed to take it very seriously. The food came out with gluten free flags in it.
The gluten free gnocchi was unfortunately not very good. I'd be shocked if it was in fact homemade. Came out mushy.
Gluten free bread was nice to have, but nothing special.
It was worth a try but we won't be going back.
Service was not good. We waiting 5-10 minutes after sitting for anyone to come over after we sat to get menus. Another 10 minutes to order a drink. At least 10-15 minutes for our waiter to come over after we got desert menus. Just a very long time with the waiter visiting other tables multiple times before coming over.
May have been coincidence, but my wife got sick after eating her shrimp scampi (stomach ache for 2 days - not gluten issue - she's not GF) Maybe it just didn't agree with her (happens sometimes). Either way, we won't be returning.
Loved the gluten free menu. Served food with warm gluten free bread which was warm and delicious. All good was labeled with gluten free signs. My son loved all the food.
My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine’s Day & it was good! Just wish they had more of their GF options offered on the preset menu, but they did serve GF bread & the pasta dish I ordered was delicious! The food came out labeled as GF as well which I very much appreciated. Excited to come back and try more of their GF menu in the future!
Good service good food no reaction really appreciate the gf kids menu but be warned it is quite pricey
This restaurant was recommended to me, the owners wife has celiac, the have an extensive gf menu full of Italian favorites. I felt relaxed and enjoyed my dinner, which was. Veal Milanese, fried zucchini sticks, and Italian cheese cake for dessert. There was even gf bread
I’m so happy to have discovered this gem!the food is excellent. They have a large selection that matches a place that used to exist in RVC and had shut down, the quality is great and I appreciate the ability to eat many things the rest of my family enjoy. I have a wheat , barley and rye allergy no cross contamination so eating out is never the easiest and I have had no bad experiences here. My favorite is the fried calamari and the penne with vodka sauce.
Fantastic food, big menu, didnt get sick (i have celiac)
Huge gluten free menu. Food was delicious. Gluten free food all had gluten free tags in it to avoid confusion. Highly recommend.
The GF menu was an entire page. My daughter loved her gnocchi! My husband and father shared the calamari with her and were impressed that it was GF!
