After expressing my concerns about cross contamination, the manager offered to allow me to go back into the kitchen to watch the chef cook my food!! So I did! Amazing. So I watched every step and questioned everything: which pans they used, which utensils, etc. It was fun and reinsuring to see how much care they took which each step. And since it’s a teaching experience for most of the employees the chef was very open to being questioned. A few of the things I pointed out (such as the utensils) were things they would’ve skipped over without thinking about it so I’m glad I was there. But I’m sure every restaurant has that kind of problem. I can’t guarantee they’ll remember what I told them so you’ll need to do your due diligence too but I’ve never seen a more accommodating restaurant in 20 years of being gf.
Yes
They don't have a specific menu that is gluten free but your server can point out on the menu what is gluten free/can be made gluten free. They made the chicken fried rice gluten free for me and it was so delicious! It says it's a side but it's big enough to be a meal. The company also trains local students and helps find them employment after the training ends; all of the money from the restaurant goes towards the training which makes me feel ever better about eating here because they do good for the community. Such a nice atmosphere, will definitely return later.
