Amazing!! I took my children to Santa's Village and I was amazed that they had so many gluten free treat options for my twin girls. They each had a gingerbread cookie and a chocolate whoopie pie. They each got a sugar cookie for the road. I was impressed because my kids are very picky about what they eat. I had a bite and wanted more. We live in Mass. but will definitely be making a trip to see what other goodies they have.
I am writing as the owner in response to the review on 8/ 24/19. I did respond to Trish and told her that we do have an all sales is final rulebut did tell her that in order for anything to be done she needed to return the cupcakes , so that we could inspect them and she did not. So it appears that she left those important details out of her review. Furthermore, she forgot to state that she threatened the bakery with these nasty reviews if we did not offer her a credit. This is paramount to extortion.
Purchased 14 different cupcakes for my celiac family.... each tasted dry and stale. Thinking perhaps we got a bad one or two we tried each one - all tasted very dry, crumbly, stale, and inedible. Frosting was good great presentation but cake in the cupcakes was not. After a bite or two of each we discarded. I did email management prior to this review thinking maybe they did not realize the items were stale since the case was still full of the same cupcakes I purchased to easily be checked - response was extremely hostile without even addressing the issue. I do not recommend Sans. Go to AJ Bakery 15 minutes south in Cranston - very good yellow cream filled chocolate eclairs and they sell many other items as well - recommend AJ Bakery over Sans that primarily only sells cupcakes. Even better you can buy a GF cake mix and make great cupcakes fresh yourself and freeze them.
The artisan bread made here is by far the best I’ve had in the 25 years since I’ve had to eat gluten free. The substantial texture is so nice to bite into, the crust is crisp. The flavor and after taste is amazing. The evolution of bread in my 25 GF years has been a slow and challenging process for bread makers, and this loaf is a home run!
Was so well received. Husband and wife shop that truly care about allergies and very knowledgeable. I couldn’t believe how many options they have in such a little shop. Walked out with a baguette, a lemon poppy muffin and a strawberry scone. Everything was delicious and I will go back and try their éclairs and cupcakes. And much, much more!!!
Went into this small and charming GF DEDICATED bakery on my way trip to the area. I spoke with the owner and found out that the products are not only 100% gluten-free and celiac friendly but are delicious. My gluten living husband really enjoyed it as well. The baker has celiac disease as well as her two daughters. I felt confident leaving this bakery but chose not to right a review until I knew I didn’t have a reaction. Would 100% of back when in the area.
The owner’s husband was very arrogant saying their stuff was better than any other gluten free bakery and that they had been to over 100 so he “knew” he was right. Everything was way too dry! Donut, cinnamon roll and cupcakes way too dry! The cupcakes weren’t very flavorful but the frosting was. This was a waste of money as we threw most of it out. The owner’s husband was full of it and we won’t be back!
I was in Rhode Island to visit the Wicked Tulip Farm and checked Find me gluten free to see if there was anything in the area. I decided to stop at Sans Gluten to see what they had. I was immediately greeted by the owner, a very kind gentleman. He said this must be your first time as he must have seen my eyes light up at the bakery case. He sliced me a piece of coffee cake to sample while he explained that most of his family had food allergies and that after trying what was offered gluten free at the time in stores and restaurants his wife decided it just didn’t taste good enough and tried baking some things her self. He had me at the coffee cake sample but after he listed all of their products I stopped dead in my tracks at gluten free eclairs. If he didn’t just get through telling me his entire store was gluten free I wouldn’t have believed him. I bought the last 2 eclairs along with a cinnamon roll, cupcake and muffins. Everything was incredible. They also do specialty cakes, cheesecake and donuts on the weekend. I will definitely be back for more!
Everyone there was extremely kind and helped me navigate their ingredients for my unique vanilla allergy. Since the owner/bakers have celiac themselves and in family members, it was easy to trust that there wouldn't be any cross-contamination. I had delicious cinn. rolls and didn't get sick!
Owner was lovely! I went a little crazy because I was so excited to have so many options. Everything was so good! Lots of interesting flavors of cupcakes, delicious muffins, amazing cinnamon rolls and the best eclairs ever. My husband who does not eat GF said it was the best eclair he’s ever had! Can’t wait to get back there!
This place was recommended by Hasbro GI clinic and it did not disappoint. The owner was patient, reviewed options, shared best selling items and even provided a free sample of pumpkin cake! My daughter was recently diagnosed with celiac and this place lived up to its recommendations. The cinnamon rolls are amazing. Will definitely be back!
This place is fantastic! The owner is knowledgeable, and took the time to go over the new flavors and cake pops. He made great recommendations and of course I walked out with a box of goodies for myself and my husband (who does not have celiac). And the cupcakes are so good!
Today was my second time going to Sans and let me tell you... This bakery is amazing!!! The owner is super knowledgeable and did a great job explaining all the details of the bakery. I love that his wife does all the baking and she herself has celiac and is very sensitive. I am allergic to nuts, gluten, and dairy yet they have so many options for me! The cinnamon rolls are to die for!!! The best part is despite being dairy and gluten free the baked goods are delicious. Even my non-gluten free family loves the desserts here and asked me to bring something back for them! You can even pre-order anything on the menu so it is dairy free too! I could go on and on about how awesome this bakery is! My family and I will be getting desserts here all the time now!!!
Entire location is celiac-friendly, the owners a VERY knowledgeable about celiac from personal experience and always great to chat with. Everything is absolutely delicious and fresh. The eclairs are to die for, and their coffee cakes are so moist delicious you’d never know they were gluten free. Always recommend!
Oustanding!! I have come here a few times and have not been disappointed. I live in Connecticut about an hour away and it has always been well worth the drive. The gentleman who owns it is very informative because of his family having celiac disease. I have had multiple treats but this weekend was blown away by the cakes. I had a slice of the Raspberry Coconut cake and the Washington Cream Pie and was amazed. I wanted to get a piece of the Red Velvet with Cheesecake but could only get 2 pieces. The cinnamon buns and eclairs are to die for as are the filled cupcakes which are pretty unique. I am looking forward to trying the filled donuts!! I have not had one in years.
This place is fabulous!! It is small but packs a punch with the goodies. They even have filled donuts which I have not been able to have in years!! I had an eggnog custard filled and creme filled, both with chocolate frosting and just about lost my mind. I shared a Baily's Irish Cream and Eggnog filled cupcake with my sister and they were awesome too!! This place is a must try.
Please please please go there- they have eclairs! They taste so amazing!!!! I was a little leary at first, because it’s a tiny little hole in the wall, but everything is so good I cried. I literally was a bawling mess. It’s been so long since I had a GOOD filled doughnut- since I COULD have a good filled doughnut. I literally can’t remember the last time. It was perfect! Also, the frosting on the fruit cupcakes is make with real fruit, and you can tell the difference! Please go check them out!
Sans Gluten Artisan Barkers was a delightful find! We happened upon this amazing place while out and about. Tom was beyond welcoming, kind, knowledgeable and a joy to speak with along with one of the wonderful bakers! They pulled out all of the stops to make my day special!! It is not often when I find a place with as many choices to choose from that taste as amazing as these goodies! Please! Please! Please! Keep doing the amazing baking that makes my tummy sing for joy!😁 You my dear bakery have made a customer for life even if I have to drive all the way from western MA, thank you very very much!!
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Products are all made from scratch with fresh and natural ingredients. The bakery is celiac and allergen friendly. Baked goods are fresh, tasty, and don’t taste “gluten free!” I haven’t been able to eat an eclair, cinnamon bun, or Boston cream donut in years, Sans Gluten has ALL of these yummy options and more!
