Omg!! These cupcakes are awesome the frosting is so creamy! Will be visiting again
People who gave a 1 star review are being way too harsh because they didn’t like a cake donut. Yes, definitely not a yeast donut- but I find them to be excellent! And I don’t know about you but almost everything we buy is frozen- so that doesn’t bother me a bit. I drive an hour to get here and will continue to do so. They just added filled donuts to their menu (but they won’t have them everyday at least at this point) and I can’t wait to get a chance to try them. Love that the donuts are affordable too. Service is always friendly and I’ve yet to have a bad experience. They sell more than donuts too, like cupcakes (so many flavors!!), cookies, coffee cakes, brownies, cinnamon buns, and scones to list a few. You can call ahead to ask what they have because they are a small facility and don’t always have everything stocked. And being 100% gluten free there is no worry!
Sorry to say but this bakery is the worst gluten free bakery I have ever experienced. After reading such good reviews about their “donuts” we drove over an hour to go there this morning. Everything was completely frozen. The donuts were just a round cake with frosting. There were no other donut characteristics to them. Everything was dry and definitely had been frozen for a while. The employee was actually putting the donuts in the microwave to thaw them. Even warm it was inedible. We were very disappointed and went out of our way on the way home to visit Twist Bakery and Cafe which never disappoints.
First time I’ve had a filled donut in 10 years! The coffee cake is AMAZING!
This place is really dedicated to their craft. I'm not only celiac, but I'm also lactose free. They usually have a good selection of dairy free and vegan cupcakes. Their desserts are excellent and they also make cakes and cake versions of popular cupcakes for special events. I highly recommend anyone gluten free or vegan to at least check out their bakery. The family is very well educated about food allergies and intolerance issues, since most of them have to live with it themselves. Very professional.
I travel for business all over the country. This is the best GF bakery that I have been to. Everything that I have tried is delicious. No funky taste. Not dry and not overly sweet, Cinnamon buns are my must haves. They actually bake everything on site. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.Girl from the back sold me on a caramel delight cupcake, Outstnding.! The safest place to eat. I never get sick. You will be amazed.
Amazing cupcakes with lots of unique flavors! It’s good to know that there’s a bakery with great dessert where I can be 100% safe
100% GF bakery. Very nice gentleman went through and showed us every single flavor and pastry/cake. Explained how his whole family has celiac and the baker, his wife, is a physician even so they know their stuff. Tasted awesome.
Yes GF, but be aware! I recieved hard, dry, stale cupcakes for a special order! We used to love this bakery until we gave the owner a heads up (not asking for a refund) and received many harrassing, mean replies! She told me to never go to her bakery again. I’ve never seen such a lack of professionalism. I later learned read other reviews of the same so I guess this is how she treats her returning customers. She lost our business and it sounds like many others.
The best gluten free pastries I’ve had in my life. Every single item is carefully prepared to be as moist and flavorful as possible. You can even find things here you wouldn’t find at a normal bakery such as mango and strawberry cupcakes made with real ingredients! Hands down recommend for all people with celiac and the whole family. I promise you won’t even know you’re eating something without gluten!
My 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with Celiac last week & I decided to surprise her with a visit here today. They've gained a family of customers for life! The baker's husband served us & he was super friendly & knowledgeable. He even took the time to share some info about going GF after learning we're pretty new to it. I cannot say enough good things about the service for sure, but on top of everything, the treats I bought us were AMAZING!!! The caramel cupcake was like a piece of heaven.
From my 7-year-old who has celiac: At sans gluten there was GF cupcakes, cakes, cookies, donuts, coffee cakes, brownies and we almost bought everything. It was so yummy and I felt safe eating there! I only wish we lived closer.
I’m new to the Area and I’m always looking for a celiac friendly food place and I have found the Holy Grail of Bakeries that is 100% safe!!! I am over the moon excited to try everything they have it is beyond amazing I recommend going there at your earliest convenience and trying everything! 10/10 :)
Everything is gluten free and everything is delicious! My husband, my kids, and I were thrilled by the variety of options and the quality! Next time we are in Providence, we will definitely go back and we will load up!
A friend brought me a few goodies from here, so I decided to pay this bakery a visit. She did not tell me that they had cinnamon buns. The man offered to heat one up. I could not believe that this was gluten free. I ordered 4 more to go and 6 cupcakes. I know where I am getting my birthday cake from.
Hey Batman!! Don't tell Superman, but this is the best Gluten Free Bakery in the Galaxy. I had to ask if the stuff that I taste tested was really gluten free. I can't do this place justice in a review. You have to go and try it out. They give all new customers a taste (your choice) of one of their coffee cakes. Prepare to be amazed.
I wanted to give my son birthday cupcakes to enjoy/share with ALL his friends while studying for exams. Sans Gluten went above and beyond to help me be a good mom! 2 thumbs up and 5 stars from Alabama. A wide variety of flavors from the expected to the exotic and all were delicious.
WOW! I’ve had some good GF bakery treats but this is the best I’ve had. I brought non celiac family members who wound up going home with two boxes of goodies for themselves ! So worth the drive.
After coming here for over a year I was very disappointed with my last visit. I originally gave this bakery a 5 Star Rating. I’ve visited frequently and never had a problem until last week. I bought three cupcakes and two of them had frosting that was so hard you could crack it with a fork! We didn’t try the third. I called the store and talked to the owner’s husband. He said to come down and he would give a refund or three cupcakes. My husband took the third cupcake back to the store, I told him get the refund or get cinnamon rolls because I didn’t want to chance the cupcakes that day. Well, the owner took the cupcake back and handed my husband ONE cinnamon roll! So that cinnamon roll cost me $15.00!!! We were never given our money back or even offered three cinnamon rolls in replacement. Sadly, this very poor business choice cost them a good customer!!
Awesome find!! It is small but there is a large variety of goodies to choose from. I was given the history behind how the bakery and the family history of celiac disease that the owner and her 2 daughters have which reassured me that they know what they are doing. Everything is handmade with fresh ingredients, including the flour blend. The buttercream frosting is real butter cream frosting and is delicious. It is amazing that they carry so many types of cupcakes with various types of frosting from American, Swiss, Italian and French buttercreams. I am a foodie and was extremely impressed by the variety. I have tried several of the coffee cakes and have yet to be disappointed. I will most likely order the pumpkin expresso for Thanksgiving. Yum!!
Beautiful and deliciously decadent sweets.
this place is wonderful, delicious and so nice! one million percent recommend! the eclairs and cinnamon buns are incredible. i live in philadelphia and couldn't remember the name and accidentally went to a&j bakery where i wasted $40 on terrible food that made me sick and tasted awful. so happy that i was in town one more day and was able to find sans gluten again. the owner is very sweet and the food truly tastes and feels good to eat. you can tell they have celiacs in the family and know what they're doing. i really recommend the maple cinnamon bun! the scones are nice too. love this place, just wish i lived closer!
Never fails to disappoint! I’ve eaten here many times and never had an issue!
Very nice dedicated Gluten Free bakery. I haven't had an eclair in so long and it did not disappoint! My non-gf friend had the chocolate /chocolate cupcake and absolutely loved it especially the frosting which is real butter cream. High tail it over here.
very small spot. location is busy. but the desserts are on point. traveled a little bit for it but was well eorth it. my girl friend is celiac and she loved the carrot cake and sugar cookies. they weren't dry like how you would expect gluten cookies to be. tasted like a regular sugwr cookie. fairly older gentlemen created the business I believe because his wife and kids have celiacs disease as well so he knows what he's doing!. would go there all the time. wish he had mkre cinnomon rolls!
This place is perfect. The husband-wife duo who own the shop are clearly very committed to giving everyone who comes in an excellent experience as all of my interactions have been very warm and friendly and they even offer samples of the treats! I got my first slice of GF tiramisu here after being diagnosed for 10+ years without finding it anywhere else, and it was heavenly. This place is a little out of the way, but it is absolutely worth the trip from anywhere!
my wife recently found out she had a gluten allergy when we finally got the answer to the 6 month prego looking belly after eating gluten! i called Sans and they where professional, well informed, and the owner is a Dr. that treats Celiac and also has it. You can not go wrong here, they let me sample cuocakes and then i purchased my wifes cake for her birthday. it was a hit, all of her friends who are not gluten sensative even said it was one of the most delcious cakes they ever had. My 8 yr old daughter exacts words "wow this is the best cake ever!" so i wouldnt listen to anyones reviews downing this place, i have gone back 4 times in 1 month to get a refill on cupcakes for my wife!
Who is Jane? I'll bet it is the competition. Shame on them!! They should try to make their baked goods taste this good instead of trying to hurt a business by writing fake reviews. I buy at least 3 carrot cupcakes every week. When I have a bad day, it cheers me up. When I have a good day - it is a reward. Any excuse for a cupcake. This is far and away the best bakery that I have ever been to.
Cupcakes didn't taste like they were cooked all the way. Very expensive, and totally not worth the money. I wouldn't pay a dollar for them! The carrot cake fell apart, and the other had no flavor.
Everything is gf and wonderful
The guy running the place was so proud of his 81 5-star reviews, so I'm giving him his 82nd. What a place! He gave me a sample of the tiramisu coffee cake (omg) and explained how they make everything else. So friendly and SO good!
I live in the southern part of the state and was devastated when I found out that Eva Ruth's had closed recently. I found this bakery on this site and I wish that I had found it sooner. It is amazing. The owner is very informative and the family history behind how the bakery started is unique but comforting--no cross contamination., All that I can say is that the cinnamon buns are amazing and I have not had one in many years. I had a strawberry and pina colada cup cake as well and both were awesome You can tell that they were made with fresh real fruit and it is even in the frosting!!. I will be back to order cake for my next cookout.
Best gluten free bakery that I have found to date I found this bakery on facebook and decided to try it after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures. I was introduced to this app when I went into the bakery by the owner, who also gave me the history behind the bakery. No cross-contamination here and they really understand celiac disease and food allergies. The cake of the week was outrageous and the cinnamon bun, éclair and 2 cookies that I bought were just as delicious. I did not know that they made bread, but I will be going back to try that next.
Awsome gluten free bakery!! Everything that I have had to date is delicious. I have even taken some of the pastry to my office and my co-workers are amazed at how great everything is.
Great gf bakery. Some of the best treats I've ever had. Daughter thought eclair was awesome !
very friendly, family has ciliacs so they know their stuff. verything is gluten free and delicious:) highly recommend!
I am not celiac, but the head chef and owner is. This bakery has AWESOME gf sweet treats. Cinnamon rolls, brownies, pumpkin bunt cake with cream cheese icing, etc. so many yummy desserts! Very friendly staff.
I was on vacation and went here twice in one week, bought two boxes of goodies each time. The owner is super friendly, the food is the best I've had in years. Cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, donuts, muffins... I was not disappointed with anything I tried. I ended up buying a cupcake there for my wedding day, best gf cupcakes I've had.
Gluten free heaven. I went it expecting the food to be so-so as usual, but I was pleasantly surprised. I sampled the lemon coffee cake and it was super moist and did not have the usual after taste that many gluten free foods often do. I was so happy with what I bought, I went back to ordered a birthday cake for my daughter who also has celiac disease as well as an egg allergy. They were very accommodating and were able to make exactly what I wanted,. Great service with very knowledgeable staff.
I was referred to this bakery by a friend after one that I used go to recently closed. It is a little bit of a drive for m, but boy was it worth the trip. The staff is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about celiac disease and food allergies. I was given a sample of the pumpkin cake and also tried a mini carrot cake sample and was hooked. Everything was super moist and absolutely delicious. I took home 2 eclairs, 2 cinnamon buns and 2 sugar cookies and they were outstanding. I shared them with my boyfriend who is not gluten free and he tried to eat them all. I was tempted to get a bucket but will save it for my next trip which will be very soon. Nice to know that there is another bakery that takes my disease seriously and goes the extra mile to make products that everyone can enjoy. It is very obvious that they put a lot of care in what they make.
Visited this bakery for the first time today and I'm so glad I did! So delicious. The carrot cake cupcake and blondie were so good! No weird after tastes - didn't even taste gluten free. The owner was so nice and I loved the handmade kids decorations hanging up. I will be going back! ❤️
Finally!!!!! I don't feel like I'm missing out at all. So yummy!
I visited this bakery after my mother had bought me a few items to try (strawberry cupcake and a cinnamon bun)--Delish!! I am a local college student and there very few gluten free items in the dining hall. I been back several times and I have yet to be disappointed. Most recently I had the donuts (chocolate covered chocolate, maple and birthday cake) which are just incredible. I also tried the eclairs and a cream puffs and they are just divine!! Good thing that there is a gym on campus!!
All I can say is amazing!! I came up to RI from New York to visit family for Easter and found this bakery on Find Me Gluten Free. Because of the holiday, it was pretty busy but worth the wait. I purchased a variety of cupcakes that were so pretty in the box, they looked too pretty to eat. I purchased a mango, pina colada, mocha, strawberry, blueberry and cherry cupcake. I also purchased 3 eclairs and 2 cinnamon buns and my family went crazy after sampling my trreats and I am the only one that has the disease.. I also purchased 2 bagels--everything and a large baguette and they were awesome. I have had celiac disease for many years and there are a few gluten free bakeries in my area but nothing like what I had here. What most impressed me was that the owner has celiac disease and is a physician, She completely understands how hard it is to find good food. I will definitely be coming back my next trip to RI. Hopefully they will start to ship soon, but if not it is well worth the ride to get their goodies.
This place is great. My 9yr celiac loves the "hostess" cupcakes and the cinnamon rolls. The owners are very nice. Everyone knows how hard is it to find good GF baked goods- this place has done it!
Lemon donuts, cinnamon buns and sugar cookies were so good. Super friendly! A super treat. We went twice in two days!
Amazing, Decedent, and superior knowledge of celiac, contamination etc. and it's NOT VEGAN, they proudly use butter, milk, eggs etc.
Absolutely amazing service, super friendly and knowledgable staff. They really know all things allergies!
Fabulous! First time there I tried the strawberry/strawberry cupcake (which was light and delicious), and the cinnamon rolls ( which taste like REAL cinnamon rolls, not the usual GF "cinnamon roll) Next trip I walked out with the birthday cake donut, chocolate chip cookies, some banana cake and an assortment of cupcakes - all were delicious and have none of the aftertaste or funny texture I've come to expect from GF baked goods. Plus, I didn't have to take out a second mortgage to buy a box of cupcakes! Excellent treats, reasonably priced. And the staff is extremely informative and friendly!
Delicious! I tried the apple cinnamon cake and it was very moist. Bought a few cupcakes for later. Stop by you won't be disappointed!
