Service was good, my server had gluten intolerance so she was good with letting me know what to get. Gluten free pizza was tasty, some of the best crust I’ve had. There are no gluten free buns but they have gluten free wraps.

Yesterday we headed to Schooners Grill after a hike at Noland Trail that took longer than expected. We knew by the time we got home, it would be really late after we cooked what we had planned for dinner. According to the Find Me Gluten Free App Schooners Grill seemed to be promising based on reviews.
The server didn’t have a clue about food allergies but was certainly very helpful and tried to find answers from the kitchen. It seemed the kitchen staff was not 100% knowledgeable either, because when I asked about salad dressings they advised me to not use any because they didn’t know or to oil and vinegar.
I ordered the Gyro Pita with a gluten free wrap instead of pita because I was assured the contents were gluten free.
My son ordered the gluten free pizza which we were assured was prepared separately from the gluten pizzas using new ingredients to rule out cross contamination.
I tried both my meal and my son’s pizza and he tried mine. Ten minutes after I was done eating, I was having sharp pain in my stomach and not feeling well. My son, who also suffers from Celiac Disease didn’t have any complaints last night.
I definitely got sick from yesterday’s meal as today I am definitely having my typical GI issues and was suffering from brain fog. My son was obviously not himself either. He reported difficulties focusing and problem solving today, though no GI complaint. This is something he thankfully doesn’t seem to have too much trouble with.
I really can’t say where the cross contamination happened, but neither of our meals were so amazing that I would risk going back for the distress my stomach is in right now. 😕 I do not recommend Schooners Grill if you have Celiac Disease or Food Allergies.
No
I was nervous to eat here on a busy Saturday night, I was afraid someone would forget about my celiac and get cross contamination. Despite the service being all over the place (because it was busy) my food was cooked and handled properly and no reaction afterwards

My waitress took me seriously when I told her about my gluten intolerance. I ordered the wings appetizer and she assured me that it would be made and cooked in separate fryers from the gluten-containing food. Tasted delicious and I didn’t get sick! She also told me that their sandwiches can be made GF and there were other GF options on their menu. She was very patient and informed!
