Had the mahi, mashed potatoes. Skip the hush puppies. & fries are not gf. This was very good! Gotta get here early unless you want to wait awhile for a table. If its close to sunset bring your sunglasses in case you're seated ocean front. We weren't prepared for that but it was nice. Felt like we were eating on the beach. The fish was served with homemade tartar sauce which was incredibly good! But not needed with this fresh mahi!

Stay away is my recommendation. We ate here on vacation a few days ago and I definitely got gluten. I got extremely sick and had all the symptoms of being glutened. Will not be back.

There are very limited GF choices at Schooners and I am having symptoms of being glutened after eating there. My symptoms are neurological and unmistakable. I had the tuna dip with celery instead of chips and the spinach and walnut salad without bleu cheese, and with raspberry vinaigrette. There is a nice view and the waiter tried to be helpful but I can’t recommend this restaurant for gluten-free.

Our resort later gave us a handout with “gluten free restaurants” (not 100% GF) labeled. Those restaurants are The Grand Marlin, Saltwater Grill, Firefly, Triple J Steak and Seafood, Captain Anderson’s, Andy’s Flour Power and J Michael’s. Schooners is not marked as gluten free. I have not been to these other restaurants but we are going to try Saltwater Grill.

My mom and I both are celiac and enjoyed eating here. Their gf options are marked on menu and server was knowledgeable of what to do. Ordered the spinach walnut salad with grilled grouper and smoked tuna dip, it was delicious!

The wait staff was awesome. They checked ingredients to be sure they were gluten-free. Loved the grilled shrimp and piña colada.
