I was so excited because Scott’s has its own gluten free menu and it’s huge! Unfortunately, anything that’s fried (fish & chips, tempura, fries, onion rings etc) is fried in the same oil that regular food is cooked in, therefore completely contaminated and not suitable for celiacs or those with gluten sensitivities. The server was great about letting me know, and she was super sweet, but she suggested that the hot oil killed the gluten…. That’s just not how it works. I think she must have been taught that by management.
The food that I did have was delicious (chicken liver & brandy pate with GF toast to start, followed by smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich with a salad), but it was really disappointing that I couldn’t have fries or anything - especially with them advertising how allergy friendly they are on the website.
