I’m very disappointed. They are supposed to have a list of foods at Customer Service but they did not. They say that you can talk to a supervisor at each food place. I tried several and they weren’t helpful or knowledgeable. Basically if you want to be safe there’s Fruit Packaged chips Popcorn Packaged ice cream And very expensive.

In April, we took at trip to Sea World to attend their Seven Seas Food Festival. We were amazed by the number of tasty gluten free options that were available on their menus. I highly recommend that you take a peek of the festival’s menus online to see your options ahead of time. They are samplers so it’s perfect for lunch! My husband is highly sensitive to gluten and a heavy eater! After three trips to the festivals food trucks, he was pretty full. I advice that you have good breakfast because Sea World doesn’t have a whole lot of options at their restaurants and concession stands. We are season pass members so the samplers were free for us!

Sea World, San Antonio = the worst “accommodations” we have experienced since daughter’s celiac disease diagnosis 18 months ago.
We emailed address on website for allergy inquiries six weeks before ticket date and received no response. We called Sea World the morning of our arrival and could not be told any specific restaurant or food options, and were told we had to walk around and talk to the restaurant supervisors during our visit. We went to Sea World on a day where it was NOT crowded. Stopped at guest services by the entrance and were given an allergen card for celiac. We used our allergen card to speak with the supervisors at several restaurants (their website specifically states “speak to the cashier at the food facility of your choice and ask for the supervisor. After that you’ll plan the perfect meal with the supervisor with your food allergens in mind.”). We were told “I think that is OK for her to eat.” No clear guidance at multiple restaurants. The Sea World app suggested “we have a plethora of prepackaged items on the menu to choose from.” Never offered anything prepackaged or the promised list of items and where to find them.
For our entire 8-hour day of all-day dining passes, our daughter had nachos.. Please do not say you can accommodate when you cannot. Please do not say your staff is knowledgable when they are not. Stating you cannot safely accommodate food allergies is better than lying on your website and not responding to inquires. Staff need to be better trained and prepared to meet food safety guidelines. Very disappointed in Sea World and their lack of ability to accommodate special diets.

The meats, fruits and corn are all gluten free. If the servers are not sure the managers are very knowledgeable and helpful. They change their gloves without being asked. The young man serving the ribs tonight asked for the food back because he was worried the fries which have cross contamination may have touched the ribs asked for a new rack to serve our order from. My family has eaten here multiple times and no issues. Highly recommend!

Shamu's Smokehouse is listed on the website and on their map as being allergy friendly. When I spoke with Sea World on the phone, I was told this restaurant would be the safest for us. Sea World also offers an allergy card that you write your allergy on and hand it to the restaurant staff and someone will come talk to you to explain their accommodations. Upon arriving at Shamu's Smokehouse, I presented my son's card to the cashier and was told that this wasn't the allergy friendly restaurant and we should go somewhere else. She acted like she had no idea what the card was for. I told her the restaurant was listed on the map as allergy friendly and she just pointed to a women behind the serving line and told me to go talk to her. The woman stayed behind the serving line and just said "meat and fruit". It was very hard to understand her because English was not her native language and because she remained behind the serving bar. She did not direct us through the line or point anything out. The beginning of the line is all desserts: cakes, cookies, cupcakes, none of which are gluten free and you have to pass by those before you can get to the meat and fruit. They had some pudding on the line that they were able to eat, but only after I had to approach them again to confirm It was gluten free. SomeOf the meat choices tasted okay, and some were terrible. The fruit was very fresh and tasted good. All in all, this restaurant did not cater to people with gluten free needs. Next time I would save my money and the long walk and buy prepackaged foods at the other restaurants at the park.
