Very excited to find a dedicated GF Korean place and also fast food, especially with the glowing reviews. The food was great and I would recommend but the service was so poor. The girl serving us just seemed so annoyed when we walked in and was not happy serving us, wasn’t even late like they were close to closing. The food was great tho thoroughly enjoyed
Excellent food. Friendly staff. We got the Southwest and a build-your-own. The GF fried chicken was awesome. As someone who is nervous to try these types of places because I like about a 2 max on a scale of 1 to 10 of spice, it was awesome. I joke that I prefer to eat my food not have it eat me. They obviously have spicy, but they gave me two sauces on the side: creamy siracha and ginger-carrot. Both were delicious, flavorful, and mild.
And the celiac in our family was delighted to see they have GF chocolate chip cookies.
My oldest son has EoE triggered by wheat and youngest has a wheat allergy. We got a chicken bowl with rice, noodles, carrots corn and cilantro and it was DELICIOUS! No reactions or belly aches. I read on here that it was a dedicated GF establishment and it did not disappoint. Would eat here again
Very tasty and everything is 100% gluten free. They also had prepackaged GF cookies available.
While in Washington DC in June 2024, I stopped by Seoul Spice, a 100% gluten-free Korean version of Chipotle. This isn't fine dining. There are no waiters. It's quick service.
As a Celiac, this is one spot I always visit while in DC and there are locations throughout the East Coast and Illinois.
I personally like the beef bulgogi, a thin, marinated beef for my protein choice.
I also like the japchae, a sweet potato glass noodle dish as my base, only because japchae usually contains gluten at other Korean restaurants because it contains soy sauce, which contains wheat, which contains gluten.
There are also prepackaged desserts, like cookies, available.
Service is quick and I always get my food to go. The food is in compostable containers.
Last visit: June 2024
This was a great place to go to eat while in DC. I felt safe with the options. The flavor was pretty good. It wasn’t the best Korean place I’ve been to but it was good. I didn’t have any reaction. We have a mix of Celiac and non-celiac in our family and all were satisfied. The portion size was good also. Staff was nice and super helpful.
Adventured to this spot for a quick dinner while traveling for work. The staff were very knowledgeable and reassuring of everything gluten free. I did a create your own bowl with the noodles, bulgogi, sesame kale, corn, “the egg”, and creamy sriracha. The meal was flavorful but portion was maybe a bit small for the price. Nevertheless, it was tasty and safe. I did not get sick and will definitely be returning.
It is terrific to walk into a restaurant and not need to ask any questions about how they handle gluten. It is 100% gluten free here! The food was great. We had bulgogi (beef), vegetables, rice noodles and sauce. The staff members were pleasant. The atmosphere was fast casual and relaxed.
I love Seoul Spice so much! Everything on the menu is delicious and with so many toppings and sauce options as well as base and proteins, there are numerous combos to build.
Bonus: they sell Rise Bakery chocolate chip cookies at the counter too. It makes my lunch time much happier.
I was so happy to find somewhere close by to eat while visiting the area. I highly recommend stopping by for food. Not only is it dedicated GF, but it is really tasty too! This is mostly a takeout place and only has one smaller table inside. I hope to be back to try something else!
