Shaks Mediterranean Bistro

I called ahead and was told they could accommodate for GF. The menu had a statement that said dishes could be made GF and to inform your server of any allergies. My server was not trained about GF at all. She said I could have any of the meat plates. When I said gyros aren't typically GF she went back to ask the chef. Came back and said I could have any of the meats except gyros or moussaka. I asked about the soup that came with the plate and she said it should be fine. I asked if there were noodles in it at all and she said there's orzo, but it's blended in so it should be ok. The chef may understand about GF but it's not being communicated to the wait staff. I can't take that chance so I won't be returning.

This place has an amazing gluten free menu. I have Celiac and I was amazed at the knowledge of the staff. The guided me to all the options that were safe for me. The food was really good I will definitely be a regular. Then even have gluten free rice pilaf
