SHIN Japanese Tapasbar & Matcha Café

I can’t say enough positive things about my experience at Shin. My husband loves Japanese food and we can never go together because by design Japanese food isn’t exactly gluten free friendly. So imagine my surprise when I found out they could cater to me. I made my reservation and they called ahead of time to discuss the menu and go through my options. Once there they took great care and a lot of effort to make sure my meals were gluten free. My main dish was especially made for me by the chef with gluten free soy sauce. I really appreciated the effort and it was delicious! It was a wonderful visit and I will be sure to visit again on my next Rotterdam visit. To add, I’ve had no gluten response which is always a great sign!

Very nice Japanese restaurant, its a mix of traditional and modern styles which gives a cozy and cool vibe. The staff helped me right away when i asked if they had any gf options available. They walked me through the menu completely and offered to make some adaptations to dishes if possible. The owner of the restaurant was very sweet and immediately came up with gf alternatives. The food was very delicious and they had lots of nice drinks and cocktails. A great menu of Japanese whiskeys too.
