So far this has been my best gf experience in all of Los Angeles, which is really saying something! All gluten free, all vegan, and always willing to work with obscure allergy concerns (even black pepper or garlic!!). It is $$$, but SO worth it because of how unique and satisfying they make the whole experience. Located on the top floor of a small mall in Little Tokyo, they validate parking in the market garage so it is free to park and that saves you a lot of $ in downtown LA. One of my favorite items was the Kiss of the Spider Woman Sushi Roll that featured pumpkin tempura, asparagus tempura, carrot tempura, “crab” made from mushrooms, avocado, kaiware sprouts, and topped with red “caviar” made from tapioca and topped with tempura sauce. Again, all gf and vegan - such creative entrees! Will be back again and again!

Hands down the best date spot in LA for anyone who cannot eat gluten. The dishes are incredibly creative, the staff extraordinarily kind and attentive, and I always have a great time. I cannot recommend enough the tempura maitake and shiitake mushrooms, spicy "tuna" crispy rice, and the green forest roll. So appreciative of these folks for creating a safe, beautiful, and decadent environment for celiacs and others who cannot eat gluten. I continue to come back!

Everything is gluten free so no need to worry ! I didn’t get sick or anything eating here but it’s a little pricy with somewhat small portions. I’d still recommend to go here because who doesn’t want an all gf place!?

I got delivery from the Culver City location, and got the ramen revolution. The ramen areas great!! Amazing broth for vegetarian ramen and the gf noodles were good. A little pricy but otherwise definitely worth a visit

everything was vegan and gluten free! delicious and flavorful, accommodating to many allergies. bonus is it’s rare to get gluten free ramen, and it was great!

Everything is gluten free and plant based. Creative Japanese menu. Located on 3rd floor of local shopping center.
Yes
This place is now my new favorite! It’s all gf and all plant based. When you book your reservation, there is a box where you can list any allergens. I have to avoid sesame and items were labeled if they were sesame, garlic or onion free. I was with non vegans and they were all in love with the food.

I live on the east coast and seriously considered flying to LA just to come here. It’s a “must” every time I visit.
The nicest staff ever (seriously) and the whole place is gluten free and vegan!
It’s inside a mall, but once you enter the restaurant, you’ll forget that immediately- it has its own wonderful ambiance.

Best service I've ever had - anywhere. Hands down.
Dedicated gluten free facility (with the exception of some of their beers) and I was even asked as soon as I sat down if I had any allergies... so no worries there!
Tonight we ordered 4 rolls and a small bottle of sake. We were deliberating between two types of sake, and our waitress surprised us with a sample of the one we didn't order just to try a taste! Both were good and it was very sweet of her to do.
We were there to celebrate my partner's birthday, and we even got a free commemorative photo of the two of us along with a complimentary fruit platter.
Waitress also took initiative asking if we needed to validate our parking, which is something I often forget to ask about.
After our meal, we were served complimentary tea... and I'm usually not a tea person but this was very smooth and I ended up finishing it off.
Again, overall experience was amazing. Been here once before, and both times were absolutely delicious. As a vegetarian with celiac disease, it was nice being able to choose anything off the menu.
They are a little on the expensive side, but sushi usually is. I find that 2 rolls per person is a good amount, and their portion sizes are pretty standard.
Perfect date night spot... their location is a little small, so I recommend making a reservation first. A little sad to see this place doesn't have more reviews... This is a must visit for me whenever I'm in town!

Shojin is a completely vegan and gluten free Japanese restaurant. The food and service were amazing! When we sat down we were asked if we were vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free, and, before we ordered, asked if we had any food allergies. As someone who has celiac disease and a shellfish allergy, it was amazing to have a vegan gluten free restaurant because I could enjoy everything without concern. Everything was fresh and I would re-order everything we ate. The “Kiss of the Spider Woman” was my friend and mine’s favorite.
It is a slightly more pricey and high end restaurant; however, for the service and food, it was well worth it. It was about $25-$30 per person before tip; all dishes are intended to be shared—one dish is served at a time—and they recommend choosing 2 dishes per person.
There is a parking garage attached to the Little Tokyo Shopping Center and Shojin validates parking, allowing you to park for 2 hours free.

Amazing place, dedicated GF, wonderful service that can only be found in a legitimate Japanese restaurant. Great sake selection as well, including Dasia 23 and 50. My new go to restaurant!

Elegant healthy dining! Everything gluten-free, vegan, and no refined sugars. Delicious as well. Feel good eating Japanese food. Pricey but worth it.

Everything on the menu is certified GF. I'm vegan and my boyfriend has Celiac, so this is one of our favorite places to eat without worry. The staff is always on point and the food is great.

Everything is 100% Gluten free, Vegan and Nut Free! Safe for celiac. The options were phenomenal---I was first hesitant about everything being vegan, but I was blown away by the taste and flavors. First time have Japanese food (aside from sushi) since being diagnosed. The tempura is heavenly. Only two downsides...service was terrible (took close to 10 minutes just to get our menus...we kept having to ask. Plus took 10minutes to seat us even with the restaurant being nearly empty) and prices are quite high...portion sizes are small so in order to have a full meal, it is going to be over $35 a person. And we still had room for dessert. We will return for a special occasion because food was safe and delicious, but not able to spend quite as much on a regular basis.

all the restaurant is gluten and nuts free (and vegan). Absolutely delicious and good service. Special star for the "baked 'crab cake' hand roll".
Yes
Absolutely delicious! Best sushi I have ever had, and I can eat anything on the menu.

Food is delicious and celiac friendly! Waitstaff is knowledgeable. I can actually eat tempura here. But it's quite pricey for the portion size.

Ate here yesterday for B-Day and it was AWESOME. Beautiful and very tasty food. Have celiac and did fine. Hostess was lovely and considerate. Asked about any allergies and when I said I needed absolutely no gluten, SHE asked ME about the need for prevention of cross contamination and made a note of my needs and rechecked the order before it went in! Amazing.....

Delicious and safe. Pricey but all sushi is. Worth the price!
Excellent quality and tasty Japanese food. Portions are too small and/or overpriced, but otherwise it is great. Gluten free options and everything is vegan. Whole family loved the food!
