I think it's really nice that they try to accommodate for all dietaries, but the gluten free offering was really lackluster. You're paying premium restaurant prices for pizza and pasta but getting something hardly better than what you would get from a chain (i.e. dominos). Eating the pizza here reminded me of dominos, pre-coeliac diagnosis. They're a very fast paced joint as they're very busy, especially with takeaway. I imagine they are optimising for speed rather than quality.
The pizza dough is very thick and doughey, very sticky and chewy in your mouth. It tastes cheap. I think they use a premade flour blend, reminded me of Ardor style dough which to me tastes very processed. Pizza itself was pretty oily and overly cheesy. The home made sausage on top tasted like nothing.
The gluten free home made gnocchi was okay, better than the pizza. The regular gluten free pasta is not made in house, and is not worth your money.
Overpriced, underwhelming. If you want a good gluten free pizza, go to Romo instead.
We were the first pizza shop in Australia to be accredited by Coeliac Australia, all our procedure are check and audited to make sure when you come and eat in you can be sure your food is done 100% gluten free...
We have based our business in a simple yet challenging concept, all people with different dietary requirements must be able to eat sitting down at the same table without compromising in taste or safety.
We try to make everything in house to have control of the whole process, for example the gluten free tiramisu biscuits are home made to make sure it is 100% gluten free and so on.
When you come in there is no need to let us know if you are a coeliac, all gluten free orders are treated as if you were already :D
We have a dedicated room for gluten free prep where we also make our special gluten free dough, yes we do NOT buy it, we make it in house
For all your take away orders, delivery and to book your next visit please use our webpage www.shop225.com.au
I can’t recommend this place highly enough! The food is fantastic, the staff know their stuff and make gluten free items on the premises that are as good or better than the real thing.
The service is also top notch and Lorenzo was so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and almost any item can be made gluten and dairy free.
Such a relief to find a place where we can eat amazing food with confidence. We live on the Mornington Peninsula and stumbled across this place on the app while passing through - but we will be making the trip up here just to visit again!
Maybe I'll have to try this place again. The photos that are shown by one of the other reviewer look excellent. When I ordered from this place I paid $28 for a pizza that had some vague pieces of cheese, 4 chunks of pineapple, and it was luke warm. Extremely disappointed. I can get a $10 supermarket gf pizza and add some toppings and my pizza will be extremely better than what these thieves gave me. To be clear, I attended in February, 2023.
I get pizza here pretty much every time I go to Melbourne. It is SO NICE as a coeliac to be able to safely eat takeaway pizza - indeed one that’s been endorsed by coeliac Australia.
My partner’s son is coeliac also and when we took him to the restaurant he said it was the best GF pizza he’s ever had.
Tried the Norcina with mushrooms and pork sausage. It was good, but wish I would have gone with the gnocchi as it’s handmade and GF. The Roquette salad was also good. Finished with the GF Tiramisu which was incredible and generous. I couldn’t finish it, and dreamt about it later.
