They have gluten free bread which can’t be toasted due to cross-contamination. Okay, fine. But beyond that, my sandwich came out with pieces of egg shell on it… the server saw it, and was like “oh it’s just egg shell it’s fine” and went on his way. I’m not coming back.
We went for breakfast at Slate for an entire week while visiting New York. The staff is very knowledgeable and ask whether it is allergy or preference. They do not toast their bread, but one of the days the bread was toasted on a clean separate pan and not the toaster, which improved the sandwich quite a bit.
Had a quick breakfast and coffee, I had the Avo and whites sandwich with gluten free bread and it was delicious! There were a good variety of options and I would come here again
Great food and very accommodating - really good gf multigrain bread
Great food. Had the bacon scramble with gf bread. Had to inquire if it really was the right bread because it looks and tastes just like good multigrain bread. The sell kombucha here and tea, too. Only snag was the avocado toast. If you’re avoiding night shades, you can order it without the chili honey, chili flakes, and radish. I ordered without the chili honey but didnt know about the chili flakes or radish. They happily changed it for me but mistakenly put it on regular bread and I had to send it back. They did make it right, to their credit. Just be vigilant (as you should always be) and you’ll be fine. We will be back here tomorrow!
