I just attempted to order a gluten free cheeseburger, which I’ve had several times, but was told the only gluten free item is the bun….
I politely questioned this, asking, “so the burger isn’t gluten free?”
Response: “no nothing is gluten free other than the bun.”
While I know this is incorrect, i didn’t want to aggravate the employee who had already walked away to continue the phone call conversation he was having.
Smashburger is one of the few places I can typically eat gluten free and this was beyond discouraging.

They told me they understood gluten free, changed gloves, separate fryer for fries etc. I ordered a burger w USO’s gluten free bun & fries. Tasted great but an hour later I definitely got cross contamination. Would not recommend if sensitive. 🙁

I don't have a smashburger around me. I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered their gluten free bun (which was one of the bests I've ever had), the employee ask if it was an allergy so they could tell the cook to prepare it on a separate grill. Employees were really nice and knowledgeable about the situation.
I'm surprised so many have voted this place celiac friendly. I was told the burgers are cooked on the same grill as their grilled cheese (and not cleaned in between). We ended up not eating there and left
No
Staff very knowledgeable about cross contamination. Grilled my gluten free bun instead of toasting. Fries are fried in dedicated fryer. Delicious
Yes
Excellent. Knowledgable staff and dedicated fryer. Manager states she is very cautious now of making shakes because if an issue they had with cross contamination. Great burgers.

Great food, got a burger with a gluten free bun and fries. Staff very knowledgable and toasted my bun on the grill instead of the toaster. All seasonings on the burgers are now GF.
Yes
Recently partnered with Udis for GF buns. Changed spice mix on burgers and chicken sandwiches to be GF. Fries are prepared in a specific fryer to avoid cross contamination. Cashier was knowledgable on their processes and ingredients. Ask them to not toast the bun if you are concerned about cross contamination since the toaster is shared with regular buns.
Yes
Took allergy seriously, had a good bun and reassured on safety of preparation process.

Good burger and safe fries. I think a $2 upcharge for the gf bun is absurd but what can you do? They also have dairy-free shakes that are very good although a little unusual.

Everything can be Gluten free. GF bun, fries are supposedly GF, but I didn't confirm. no bad reaction. The shake was pretty good too!

We’ve been here countless times and I’ve never had an issue. Very easy online ordering and the gf bun is good for the burgers. Fries and tater tots are in a dedicated fryer. I never opt for the milkshakes though since the brand they use isn’t gf.

No options. They had gluten free buns but all the food is cooked together so none of the options are safe.
