I do not recommend this restaurant. The waitress was nice and tried to help, but did not know what was gluten free. Nothing on the menu was marked. The fryer is shared. The waitress went back twice to talk to someone and the only food recommendations where they felt comfortable serving me was the chips and queso or salads. Since we had limited time for lunch, we stayed and I had the chips and queso. The quality was equal to stadium nachos. My non-gluten family thought their food was just okay. Fries were over done and the menu prices were on the high side for what you got and the quality. If we had more time in town, we would have walked out and tried to find another restaurant. They did have gluten free buns on the menu and when I had inquired about certain sandwiches, the waitress came back with the two choices of queso or salad.
This establishment used to have a dedicated gluten free fryer. Please be aware this has changed! They introduced gluten-containing items to their menu that all go into the same fryer. The only options you will have here now are gluten free buns for burgers, and salads.
Visited because of earlier reviews, but new menu (Apr 2024) is a lot less clear than before about GF. GF not listed on menu. Server clarified that deep fried items are all in a GF fryer. But they were a little unclear on what menu items were safe. I had fried pickles (a new experience for this European visitor) and a burger. No ill effects afterward but you should check everything.
GF menu available, GF buns and drinks (seltzer and cocktails). Nice place and good service!
Awesome meal. We both got burgers with GF buns. Mushroom and swiss for him and SA burger for me. Very yummy homemade SA BBQ sauce with huge bacon made a delicious burger. We both had tots which were very crispy and good. If we are ever here again we will be back. Nobody got sick. Wonderful dinner!
Dined here twice during my stay in Sheridan. Had wings with buffalo sauce and shared a side of fries with my traveling companion - all gluten-free for dinner. The waiter double-checked on everything, the wings, the sauce and the fries. Next day for lunch had a cheeseburger with fries, again all gluten-free. GF bun crumbled a little, but it was the best burger I’ve had in quite some time. Fries were excellent and abundant! Highly recommend!
Menu states to ask about gluten free options.
I had a burger with GF bun, fried pickles (dedicated fryer and great taste) and Blueberry seltzer. All were great and I had no reaction. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Waitress mentioned owners were celiac and very vested in the restaurant. Only short coming was no gluten free beer but, again, the seltzer was great (and gluten free).
Great wings, chicken strips and gluten free buns. It was a treat to get fried pickles and the fryer is dedicated gluten free. Very happy with the food.
Our waiter was not very knowledgeable. She also was not willing to ask the cook or manager. We ordered 4 different appetizers; fries, vegetables, tater tot nachos, and chips and queso. The food was very good and it did not take that long to come out. All fried items in the restaurant are fried in a dedicated gluten free fryer.
This is my first review on FMGF even though I am an avid user on the app. While making a stop through Sheridan today on a road trip, we thought we’d ask about their GF protocol just to see if it was an option (usually I just bring my (celiac) son’s food in if I am uncomfortable)-! We were greeted by the hostess who was lovely, she had multiple severe allergies herself and said she trusted the kitchen with preparing her food. After being seated we saw the menu which stated that all of the food that went into the fryer was GF! Even fried pickles had GF breading! So while there is no ‘dedicated fryer’ there is no gluten items used in the fryer (win!)! The kitchen chef came out to explain their GF items and protocol and was very kind, knowledgeable and friendly despite being busy. The food was excellent. My son THOROUGHLY enjoyed his GF cheeseburger with bacon and fries....and said it was an awesome bun. We were able to enjoy GF appetizers for the table as well and the wings were delish-! The gluten eaters also thought the food was very good (best French Dip I’ve had in a long time!). When paying, we ended up meeting one of the owners who told us her husband was gluten intolerant and that’s why there was so much attention given to GF there. EVERYONE was so friendly, including another waiter(?) buser(?) who gave our dog a water bowl while we ate. The restaurant itself has a very cool vibe and if we lived near it, we would be consistent customers! Thank you Smith Alley for making our day and meal so great! 10stars!:) PS: kids meals come with a ‘dirt cup’ which is chocolate pudding with Oreos and gummy worms...they are trying to get the GFOreos through their supplier to make GF ones for the GF kiddos! Gummy worms and pudding on their own were already GF-:)
