Ask for the gluten free menu
they work well with you if you need to modify an item on the menu or have questions about something and they work hard to make sure there's no gluten contaminations and the food is very good
Love this place! My go to since being diagnosed! Knowledgeable staff and many menu options. They even have a dedicated fryer for GF! Meaning I can have French fries here! Yay! Would highly recommend!!
Awesome place to eat servers and mangers go above and beyond
Very nice was able to have ribs and baked potato. Been here many times!
I informed the staff I was gluten free prior to ordering. I got pulled pork with potatoes. Within thirty minutes I started to feel sick, the waiter informed me that they accidentally put garlic bread on my pork at first but then removed it! Not safe at all. I notified the manager and he was very apologetic but I just can’t trust them again..
So far they have taken care of me. My go to meals are pulled pork or ribs with a baked potato. I always advice that I have a gluten allergy and to ask the chef to take extra care to change his gloves while preparing my food and so far I’ve eaten here probably 5+ times without an issue. Your mileage may vary at other locations. I have celiac disease and have been okay so far.
They had a separate GF menu with plenty of options. I'm always one to be super skeptical of GF menus with just some options from the menu, but I got the pulled pork and it was delicious! Also didn't get sick at all. I will be returning in the future.
One of the reasons we came here was because of their gluten-free menu. I have celiac disease which allows strictly no gluten in my diet. There were quite a few options for me to order from. However, when my food came there was a piece of garlic bread on my plate touching the ribs that I had ordered. I had to cut that piece off of the rack. The food was good but I question their knowledge of gluten allergies and the lack of caution while preparing my food.
our waiter Jesse was fabulous! Great GF menu with lots of options!
They have a gluten free menu. Most of their meats are gluten free, and sides too. I had the pulled pork, loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli!
I really enjoyed my lunch. It tasted so "real" and I didn't get sick at all and I am very sensitive. I got the grilled chicken which is sliced thin and good quality. All the BBQ sauces on the table are GF and delicious! I had mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli too. Very pleased and will be back!!!
I know this is supposed to accommodate people with a gluten intolerance but when my bar b que chicken came out, it was smothered in sauce. About an hour later, I broke out in hives and have an upset stomach. I will not be going back. Didn't have any problems at Sonny's!
Lots of g/f choices here. All of the sauces. the slaw, the wings (different from and tastier than the big chains' wings), plenty of sides and entrees to choose from, as well as TWO really good gluten removed beers. Never found any establishment that offered more than one. The smoked meats were all moist & tender. Outdoor seating for warm weather. We'll return even though it's a long distance for us.
I had the chicken breast with a baked potato. There are 5 BBQ sauces to choose from and large portions. The server was very knowledgeable and had us laughing a few times. shared kitchen. Disclaimer on menu. I am very sensitive but had no problems
Traveling through on Vacatiou. Had to backtrack to get there. Well the effort . At other rib joints I have been frustrated by not being able to have the bbq Sause! Not so at Smokey Bones My wife doesn't have Celiac so she had the onion rings . Some of the best she has ever had. We will be stopping there again on our way through!
They had a menu and the smoked wings appetizer was delicious as well as the ribs, but unfortunately I do not think the staff are properly educated about cross contamination or they just don't care because within 30 minutes I got sick. Not the first bad experience with them. Probably won't be back :-/
Waitress was very thoughtful and conscientious about Celiac. She gave me a menu detailing many allergies and then a gluten free menu. I cross referenced the menus to make sure there were no inconsistencies. Overall, good experience and most of all I didn't get sick:)
I generally come to smokey bones for a nice salad option, but I've found habitually that coming during rush hour times is a bad idea. The kitchen is too busy to realize the severity of the allergen when they're waiting on a full dining room. I've had bread accidentally put on my plate and croutons mixed into my salad. I suggest coming here only for lunch or other off times where they can make sure not to contaminate your food.
There is not a dedicated GF menu here, and they have a disclaimer on the sheet of paper they give when you ask for the GF menu. It states that they "make no guarantees regarding the gluten content of any of these items." Disappointing and frustrating to have to dissect the menu.
