Unfortunately this place lied and glutened me.
I was so excited to try it because of the reviews and they have one of my favorite foods. I ordered the Gluten free pad see ew and plain milk tea boba. The waiter confirmed I ordered the gluten free version and I also let her know I was a Celiac/allergic to gluten so I could have no cross contact. (They have a whole menu for gluten free and vegan foods but I wanted to confirm anyways) When it got to the table it was not by itself it was next to other gluteny food but the waiter did say again it was gf, so I ate it. Now I'm having a week long awful reaction that I think could only come from eating an entire glutened meal, not just a little cross contamination. I had previously only eaten stuff i made myself that I know was gluten free, so it was definitely this restaurant that did it.
They never really say it, but this is a Pan Asian restaurant and bar. They have a few Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese dishes. They also have a good bar with a lot of soju, sake, bubble tea, and other Asian (and naturally gf drinks), and it has a light, sunny feel to it.
I tried it by myself first, then my som (Celiac) tried it, and we’ve been several times, since. The gf menu is at the bottom of the regular menu and has a variety of dishes. It’s a pretty good selection, but you can pick your protein (or combine for extra protein), pick your spice level, and customize things to your liking.
The fresh rolls (with or without protein) are good, and so is the crispy shrimp. The Mongolian Stir Fry is popular with our family. And my son with celiac often orders it with beef or pork plus a fried egg. The Cashew Stir Fry, Pad Thai, and Massamun curry are both really good. However, if you like it spicy (I’m usually a 4 or 5 at Thai and Indian places), they top out at around a 3, so just get the hottest one, super hot.
Never an issue. And if you’ve only tried traditional sake, you should try the sparkling sake and soju. Lots of good stuff on that part of the menu, too.
Dedicated gf menu. We eat here a LOT and I’ve never had a problem. They do have a gf fryer. My small complaint would be the up charge on everything (ex subbing out broccoli and wanting carrots instead, $2) but it’s so worth it to eat somewhere safe. I love the pad see ew and massaman curry. We’re here almost every week, I don’t recommend it enough! Oh but ask for spice because otherwise there isn’t any ;)
Excellent food and atmosphere. Had a variety of choices for gluten free and vegan. Grand girls loved the boba tea too.
