I’ve been here twice and have had the ahi tuna tacos both times with no issues. If you are vegetarian and gluten free, your options are pretty limited here. But, the chips have their own fryer and are safe! And I love their salsa flights. However I am also allergic to avocado and even though I asked for no guacamole, the tacos still came with it on top. They were very kind about re-making them for me, but I would just suggest being extra explicit about allergies since this oversight has happen both times now. The gluten allergy wasn’t noted on the ticket but the “no guac” was, so always best to triple check about gluten and cross contamination with them.

Rob(Manager) was sweeping, said they were serving breakfast, I said I was GF, he said he had several options and a breakdown of menu items that could be made .
Started with a Horchata cold brew, Fried Plantain’s as an appetizer, then Chorizo and Egg Tacos

Wife has severe celiac and servers have told us what is gluten free but ever time after we leave she has felt horrible. Been about 3 times now and it's happened each time.

One of my favorite places to go in Bloomington. Always safe for me and never get sick. The chips are in a separate fryer but I still ask every time. Items are marked GF. I always have them make a note about it as well.

Mar 2021 - I had the El Matador Bowl w/o cheese along with chips & verde salsa. It was tasty. Our waiter was very helpful, double checking with the kitchen on the chips and meat marinade. This bowl is gluten free but was not mark GF on the menu. As mentioned by previous reviews they do a good job of listing the ingredients. If you think an item might be GF based on the list your server can check the allergen list in the kitchen.
I will go here again next time I am in town.

It was good! The food was all well labeled on the menu- not with gf/ non-gf, but with ingredients to dishes. My celiac dad and I had the steak and pork bowls (can’t remember specific name) and neither of us got sick.
I was surprised with how many options they had. As the other reviewer mentioned, the chips are not safe but that was the big thing my server cautioned me to avoid. Beyond that, he suggested tacos with corn tortillas and their bowls. He even mentioned that the dishes with fried fish could be made with grilled fish instead. I ended up with a rice bowl that was delicious and I felt good after my meal.
They are new- so giving some time. Tortilla chips are not safe. Fry in same fryer as battered fish. Do have corn shells for tacos available but you have to ask. Food is tasty- staff needs more education BUT they will ask in the kitchen for you.
