Love this place! Our family orders from here at least once a week. Please be careful, they fry their gf plantains with a shared fryer. They are labeled wheat free but are not not safe for celiac!

This place is delicious and I have ordered rice and beans before without issue. However, I ordered the Salsa Criolla once alongside beans and rice and was glutened. It was through online ordering and I was unable to talk to the staff directly.

I want to review Sol Food after reading about someone’s experience with the Nima. We order the chicken thighs, both beans, rice, salad and fried plantains probably have eaten a dozen times since diagnosis. Neither of my daughters with celiac have gotten sick or even a stomach ache. There’s not much on the menu with gluten, so I’m not sure what could be cross contaminating the person’s Nima. Just wanted to share a note of confidence in Sol Food. We love it.

The food is delicious, and they can make sandwiches with platanos that are gf. Definitely *not* celiac friendly. My partner has celiacs so we always Nima food when we get takeout. Sol Food is about 50/50 with gluten found. It’s pretty random and it might be the whole order or just one dish. We’ve eaten here a dozen times, although now that we have five or so meals with the positive Nima result, we may stop coming.

Not safe for gluten intolerance despite their menu items being labeled wheat free. I was glutenized twice eating “safe” meals here.

Super tasty food! I had the prawn salad which was tasty but not amazing. Tried the roast chicken & plantains with cheese & avocados & I was fine. I can see how cross contamination would be a problem though.

Very high risk of cross contamination. I’ve gotten sick EVERY TIME I eat here, no matter what I order or how careful the kitchen promises to be...

While the food was delicious, they do not have a dedicated gluten free food prep area. I definitely had contamination in my meal and have been feeling the effects from it.

This place is great because they use rice oil, which gives me a lot of options that other places don't allow due to using soy or canola oil. Also you can get a sandwich between 2 fried plantains!

Awesome mostly g-f restaurant. They have bread for sandwiches, other than that, most food is g-f. I was told they use the fryer for fries only. The chicken combo with fries is my favorite! Now, if I could get them not to use olives. (Just kidding - I don't like olives - but they're in everything). Oh well.... No matter what time of day, there is a line out the door. It's all community tables, so the turn-over is fast. Gotta be the most popular restaurant in Marin. Their delivery is a great option and worth the small delivery charges. It can be difficult to park at the restaurant.

Awesome Puerto Rican food. Get the cubano sandwich served on "tostones" (plantains) instead of bread. Amazing!

This I done of the best places to eat if you are GF. My daughter has Celiac and has never gotten sick from eating here. They only use a small amount of gluten products in the restaurant (for sandwiches) and cross contamination has never been an issue.
